Just watched the replay of the ADL/SYD game. Ripping contest.
:thumbsu: Umpires protecting Sloane - hope they do the same for Dangerfield/Selwood
:thumbsu: Swans kicking efficiency (surely they can't do that forever)
 Adelaide's goal kicking - should have blown the Swans away
 50 free against Eddy, Mills(?) definitely played on (waiting for the Ump to call gives away to much of an advantage - Josh Hunt v Fasolo anyone?)

Geelong will have to bring their absolute best to beat either of those teams in the finals.

Well, we have to beat tigers again and hope freo can beat the drug cheats and west coast have to lose as well . I think that's all hahaha , it's been a long year so forgive me if I dont expect it to happen . One more thing is we have to win by more than the dogs do .
Think I'll just be happy if we can beat the Tigers again .

Tim Watson on Talking Footy: "The pressure Richmond put Freo under after quarter time was the best pressure a team has applied all year."

Someone send him a copy of our 2nd quarter against the Dogs.
Save your effort friend. He will not give us any credit ever. If we defy the odds and pinch a flag it will be about how poor the opponent was on the day and nothing more.

Or they might recycle the ones that gave been used for the Dogs winning last year.

Either way if we win the flag who cares what he says.

I have not given him time since the Bomber departure. His commentary always seems conflicted.

Thanks mate .

Roo did the same thing at the Saints , he decides when to become the loose man in defence . But without Roo and Joey our leadership group is very quiet and try to lead by example on the training track rather than telling players where they should be . For example the Port lose when they kicked two goals in 90 seconds, it's no coincidence that both Roo and Joey weren't playing and the side just panicked. Same the first quarter against Melbourne.

Who is in your leadership group , how do they compare as a group ?
I'm about the only person not in our leadership group: Selwoods, Blicavs, Duncan, Dangerfield, Guthrie, and Taylor.

Just like Adelaide without Danger, I almost wonder if a few games without Selwood might not be a good thing - he sets such an incredible standard that (perhaps unconsciously) others feel they cannot match it. So the reliance gets built into the ceiling they set for themselves. Guthrie, for example, went off like a rocket the first game without him, because he needed to.

If we are going to go from very good team to contender, we need players like Duncan, Guthrie, Motlop, Hawkins, Scott Selwood and Zac Smith feeling like they need to take responsibility for getting the win, rather than just doing their job/supporting the stars. Because at the moment our veternans and newer players are for the most part doing a terrific job, so we are avoiding the "bottom six being vulnerable" that is so often spoken of.

We have a very thick group of supporting cast members in defence, in particular - forwards not so much.

Some of those players you've mentioned, they already seem to 'get it'. Duncan in particular this year, Scott Selwood even going back to his WCE days and Guthrie on occasions show they know what is needed to be done. It's those other three, particularly Smith that is lacking that ability to pick the team up and lead the way. I thought that had turned a few weeks back, Zac had a really good purple patch in the Sydney game where he seemed to be the main guy leading the way but then you look at the Pies game and he really dropped the standards required.

Australian Cricket Team,
The thing with rucks these days is that pretty much everyone one of them has been belted at some stage. for example:
-Ryder belted McEvoy but Jacobs belted Ryder.

Interesting on SEN today, I heard Nick Dal Santo say some players find out they're getting the boot this time of year in a team meeting when the Coach says, "I'd like to thank so and so for their service while they've been at the club." You'd think they'd do it face to face in private, must be a kick in the guts for guys to find out this way. I remember Steven Baker from St Kilda found out like this from Ross Lyon and he wasn't too happy.

Lyon always was a piece of work , I never liked him even though he almost got us a flag but he ruined us for the future at the same time . We had Lynch in the twos who was screaming to be played at half forward but instead Lyon tried to buy in players like Gamble from the Cats . In the end Lynch went to Adelaide and we see how he's turned out . Everybody wanted him to be picked in the seniors except Lyon who for some reason didn't like him . He was just the player we needed especially in 2010 . Lyon wrecked our team by not giving younger players a go and then when a few players left he said they had no loyalty. But of course when we needed to rebuild he jumped ship himself . Never forgive him for that . He took the money and ran .

Freo get beaten by 100 2 weeks in a row

On the Couch - David King showed vision of Nat Fyffe playing on Dustin Martin - Richmond into attack - their both standing sort of together at CHB/CHF respectively - Martin runs ambles casually to full forward all by himself - Fyffe ambles back to the centre - . Richmond get the ball and just give it to Martin all alone in the goal square - simple goal - Fyffe just turns his back in the centre - when Martin kicks the goal

I could never envisage Sellwood ( Captain like Fyffe ) doing that ever

Pretty demoralising vision for the Docker supporters .

Imagine if earlier in the year Motlop had done that.
