Plenty of names mentioned to replace Bolton and I feel they will go for a experienced coach and Scott will be in the top 3 imo
Bye for the Saints this week followed by the Suns in Townsville so I think they will need to get the win or more pressure will go on Richardson but I can see him making it to the end of the season unless they have some 10 goal losses like yesterday

I'm not sure that Bolton is a good coach, but I certainly feel sorry for him that he hasn't had a real chance to show whether he is or isn't with the list that Carlton gave him to play with. All the Carlton fans and the club hierarchy are saying the rebuild is fine and on track - and maybe it is when you look at the longer term - but in the short term it's delivered a very young, inexperienced lineup that was always going to be difficult to get good results. In my view, SOS cut too deep and too hard (Tuony, Gibbs, probably Holman & Kerridge too); took out the experienced shell that was needed to develop the young superstars, and when he tried to replace them, he got his trades, rookies and late draft picks wrong. Other clubs could find (for example) de Boer, Tim Kelly, Zac Langdon and Matt Guelfi (all of whom would have helped the Blues) but SOS got Shaw, Mullett, O'Shea and Smedts. They really need to revert to an experienced coach now, IMHO.

But they did that before when they got Mick Malthouse and that didn't work either. Not sure what it is that Carlton aren't doing as it's mind baffling. Perhaps the Board has too much to say and the coach is not given the freedom to do it his way??

Well, I'm not a Malthouse fan, so didn't think that was the right choice at the time. I think he had the freedom to do it his way - just that his way wasn't right for the team he had (and he tried to change to suit what he wanted). But I agree, it will need a strong coach to deal upwards with the board and favourite sons within the hierarchy.

Wow. So Lions don't like pressure. Ouch.

Well we all have a bad day, sure the Lions will be back.
It was like the Freo game again, but with Cripps playing the role of Fyfe.

Crows looking good at AO and it will be interesting to see the away form after the bye as to if they are a top 4 team and with a few players going down today for them if they keep a small injury list they should go deep in the finals

Good to see the tribunal come down hard on Stratton after what I saw as some weak decisions on the Ablett and I forgot who else was around the same time

Fyfe IIRC. Stratton has no Brownlow so doesn't get credit - Ablett got away with two and Fyfe got away with one, so it's clear you get a "get out of jail free" card with each Brownlow.

It will be interesting to follow the news on a couple of players and the concussions with McCartin (Saints) having a trip overseas to see a specialist and also Kolodjashnij having another concussion on the weekend
I feel for the players and really not having a good enough run of games although KK had a good first 2 seasons but I think it may be retirement for the both of them at the end of the season
I hope to see more players wearing helmets in games and not saying any rules need to be looked at but hopefully the AFL is funding some studies into what can be done to prevent concussion and also treatment
From the Giants not sure if Buntine has changed the way he plays but he suffered a couple earlier in his career and he has (touch wood) not had any for a few years and and both Cameron and HH and very courageous in the marking contest so hopefully they play out their careers without issues
