no players suspended from the weekend, Roosy on "On The Couch" gave it to the AFL and rightfully so. 3 behind the play hits and all they got was a fine. The punch is allowed again.

It’s improbable but I wouldn’t rule out entirely the possibility that the AFL challenges tomorrow. They have talked a big game on this and they have been roundly called out for it this evening.

Is this the 2019 equivalent of sacking Mark Neeld as a blood sacrifice to the baying mob?

It could be - I found the timing interesting, given the report suggests that the move was set in motion 6 weeks ago. I would have thought, if he knew he was moving 6 weeks ago....why stay for just Round 1? Makes no sense.

Pretty sure l remember either last season or the season before that if there were any jumper punches, such as what Ryan did that they would be suspended. Has that gone now?

That's what I thought, but then you'd think he would've gone through some sort of recruitment process. That being said, I'd have thought it a massive backward step for a strength and conditioning coach going from a professional AFL club to AFLQ, so doesn't pass the sniff test (unless of course he or his partner relocated to QLD for personal reasons).

Oh how I wish we get Darcy Parish at the end of the year (contract expires at the end of the year)

I initially thought it odd that Sydney didn't fight to retain Hannebery, but you can see why they were happy to see him go.

As for the Saints; sounds like they didn't their due diligence before contracting him to a 4 year / $5M deal, because by the sounds of it, Hannebery's body is cooked. Doesn't help that he is constantly out enjoying himself in Melbourne's busy social scenes.

I've seen him out a couple of times and the second time, a week or so before the start of the JLT, he was off his head at the Espy. Hardly the consummate professional and even more reason to be excited at our recruitment of Lachie Neale and the lengths he is going to be the best he can be and not treating his new club like a pay day, which can hardly be said about Hannebery.

I'd actually be stunned if Hannebery is still going around in 3 years time let alone 5.

Such a saints move that one.

Also saw this evening that Hanners ‘quietly’ stepped away from the saints leadership group today.

Nearly as Saints as the Hawks wanting Longer, but the Saints offering McEvoy instead.

I'm not hooked into the Sydney AFL scene but even I knew that was a massive mistake. Was basically running on fumes last year on an already expensive contract and when the Saints came calling Sydney couldn't say yes quick enough, even for a third rounder and a swap of second rounders.

Collingwood and Melbourne a fair chance to go 0 and 2. With us a decent chance to go 2 and 0. This would be an amusing occurrence if it were to happen. As Melbourne and Collingwood fans just expect it to happen this year.
