Clarkson really is a good coach. Every forward 50 ruck contest with Hawkins he has a third player standing 2 metres away from Hawkins ready to tackle him. Only focus is Hawkins. If he grabs it immediate spear tackle and holding the ball.

we gave up 2 goals (including the game winner) from Hawkins F50 ruck contests. Every team should do this and I will be pissed if we ever let him catch the ball from the ruck again.

Geelong get the benefit of the doubt with most umpiring calls. HTB's, throws, holding off the ball, dropping of the ball, it is insane how much they get away with.

added to that is comparing this game to others over the weekend. Sure it could be a great grind if both teams were playing well.. but its just boring play with semi-bad playing

hopefully it will get better in the final qtr. maybe hawks can mount a comeback.

Geelong surely running out of people to field between injuries and suspensions.

On a side note has anyone else enjoyed watching the non lions games this season. I think this seasons football has been awesome. Besides the 'Stand' rule (even though that has been a big cause in speeding up the game it just looks and feels uncomfortable). This seasons footy is fire.

O’Meara is probably over halfway through his career now and even accounting for his injuries, he is good B grader rather than anything more. Plenty of midfielders of his type running around but probably on much less money. He seemed to be destined for greatness early on.
