From memory, it was Sunday game, we made the call Sat, and as we gave the other team "adequate" notice, it was all ticked off by the AFL.

I seem to recall it was a tall (ruckman?)

St Kilda will kick themselves, that game was there for them but their kicking really let them down.

I have very little sympathy for the small vic clubs. They get the same Vicbias advantages as a big vic club but they are too pathetic to leverage it as well as those clubs. Then they have the audacity to cry poor.

They get the same advantage of limited travel which has huge impacts on player longevity. They get to be based in Melbourne where the footy industry is based. Their players get the same opportunity to milk that footy industry to set themselves up with money and careers post AFL with all those job for mates. Not to mention all the old boys network all around the city to help support their players with rorts. Their WAGs also get a slice of the gravy train being pseudo celebrities in the city and hence the sponsorship opportunities that come with it.

St Kilda, Dogs, North all get these advantages. They have been around for a hundred odd plus years. Thye just suck at leveraging these advantages as hard as Collingwood or Carlton or the other big Vic clubs.

These pathetic clubs then come whinging against northern academiesand such. Loser mentality clubs.

Very strange that Collingwood were able to bring Markov in for the game without being fined, the AFL allowed them to bring him in for Bobby Hill despite not being a named emergency.

Also sounds like clubs are regularly knocked back on this. Maybe an optics thing that the league didn’t want to look heartless by denying the request. But very strange. Hopefully Bobby’s situation is okay

The AFL should just get it over with and move St Kilda to cairns. Personally, i enjoy watching them implode because their CEO is an anti-acadamy knob, but they're a stain on the competition. And the beautiful part is, if they moved to Cairns, they would probably finally have access to their own academy as well. Win win for the minnows

I think the rules are different for a ‘late’ out but happy to stand corrected if not

I don't see it as a big deal anyway. Normally the players going out aren't as good as the ones coming in. Things happen sometimes and with 3 emergencies you can't account for every potential issue.

The big deal is other teams get fined for doing the exact same thing but in this case it’s been ticked off. I’m just not sure why. Yeah it’s unlucky to lose two players but it’s unlucky if your ruckman goes down and you’ve got a small as sub as well. Part of the game etc

Yeah, sorry, to clarify, we have brought someone in outside of our emergencies previously (which is where fines can be generated from).

We certainly haven't done it as late as Collingwood though.

Now they're spending the next 10 minutes talking about.. you guessed it.... Carlton. Just the usual nonsense about Carlton. Honestly how is that relevant to Round 10 ?? Who cares ??

Their list has been unbalanced for years with 6 players taking a large percentage of their salary cap and bottom six are poor. They get a few injuries or their best players don't play well, they perform poorly.

We had some reasonable games in this round and the key talking point is how poor a non contender in Carlton were in a game everyone expected them to lose anyway.

These shows, articles and... media(?) generally have parts that are useful. Allows for confirmation of things said around the place.

Except Footy Classified. Hated the Tuesday episode because of Eddy, now hate the Monday episode too.
