Only a few players played well, most were ordinary. Hard to blame the coach when you kick it to Moore more than your own players.
It's not even that. You need finals experience. Wish someone had some sense over there to realise that it'll take a few cracks to win the flag. Hell, it took us 6 years to win one, and our first 3 years playing finals were quite shit. But we were getting better and better. Winning it out right away is usually flukey and it's not good for the long term sustainability of the club. You need to build the foundation and the experience so you can have a go year in and year out.

Agree, even if they win next week they will need to beat Geelong at the MCG or Lions at the Gabba.

Now McRae sooking about booing. It's like he pays no attention to his own fans and their behavior. 😂
Fans booing players for what was said to them are ****ing morons.

Let’s just hope the Pies get either the cats or us in the prelim, the only two teams who can stop them from getting to another GF, and the only two teams who could beat them in a GF

GWS are their bogey team too
Pies struggle against them for whatever reason

GWS are Geelong’s bogey, and of course our bogey team.

Collingwood fans don't like GWS matchup either. It'll be weird if GWS gets knocked out vs Hawks or Vs Adelaide.

They can play well against the rest but never able to get past the early stage matchups. Not complaining, if we don't have to face the charcoal jumper in this finals series I'll be happy.

So either the Pies in the prelim or the granny if we make it that far. Ugh, was so hoping they'd be taken care of on the other side of the draw, before we had to meet them. Attending games with their fans is so much less enjoyable. Was chalk and cheese the difference between the two grand finals over the last two years and the level of respect each fans had for each other.

Collingwood have four possible opponents in their preliminary final, and they lost their last game against each of those four possible opponents.

They're not in the Grand Final yet.

Jesus. The carry on over Nick’s short inward kick is insanity.

Yeah, the over the top celebrations of players shapes my opinion to the negative for a player which is not really right. Daicos might be top bloke and he is an amazing player but the way umpires treat him at times as well as commentators makes me want to see him shank a kick or get tackled more than others. Opposition fans probably feel the same about the same as some of the way Mcluggage and Zorko get hyped up.

Playing List Manager - Rebuild Edition.

I despise The Wobbles as much as the next normal human being HOWEVER if rebuilding a list basically from ground up like Dons, Blues, Weagles and Essendon, near top of the shopping list would be players like McCreery, faux tough guy Maynard (and Starce as an example from us) as building blocks. Over paying with massive contracts is just gambling irresponsibly with a clubs future and serves only to throw some distractions at the baying masses of the fanbase and media. Get the blocks in place to protect the high draft picks and set professional standards then consider overpaying wunderkinds based purely on potential. This also serves to dilute the cultural malaise that has long influenced the playing groups of some of these clubs.

Fully expecting De Goey to get off. Shows just how much the media drive the narrative.. your Jon Ralph’s etc burying it under good news stories and shameful crowd behaviour.

Ralph's usually so horny to suspend players too!

Seems pretty clear cut. If it's not a week then they've rigged the outcome to help out a powerful Vic club

Interesting there was a very similar incident with Worrell so he should get the same outcome
Tbh, I don't care if it's a suspension or not. Just as long as it's consistent. If they let De Goey off, i'm happy with that as long as one of our players don't get rubbed out for doing the same thing.

Amazing the difference in reporting by the media between interstate clubs and Collingwood. Bailey copped a deluge from the media about his accidental head clash against Carlton and ended up with a week because of ‘ the potential to cause injury’! On that basis DeGoey should definitely be suspended, but of course it won’t happen. The inconsistency is pathetic.

I think one thing we as a clubs fans need to do is refer to ourselves and other clubs outside of Victoria as non-Victorian rather than interstate. Referring to ourselves as interstate (unsure where you live) when the Victorians are interstate to our club just makes it sound like we (and others) are lucky to be a part of the VFL rather than it being a national competition.

You're 100% right though. It turns me off players, and I think it does most fans who aren't fans of that particular club.

It was the same for me with Dusty Martin, when ever he did anything marginally good it was an over the top carry on. When he shanked it, it was uncharacteristic, though if you watched him play, it was characteristic. He wasn't a bad kick but like most midfielders, when under pressure he could shank them. The problem comes when as an opposition supporter it feels like the umpires are star struck by the player and they get umpired differently. Daicos has it with some fairly soft free kicks that he has staged for + some elite throwing not getting called. Dusty got it when he got away with a lot of high fends to necks and faces.

Spot on 👊

Look at old cricket matches zero celebrations maybe a hand clap and a pat on the back.
The players now over do it and also Neil Diamond
We copy America alas

Which is a shame because any good American commentators I have ever heard and been like that guy is phenomenal have always been understated, like a Vin Scully who was just incredibly good at his job but didn't go OTP or if he did, certainly didn't often.

I don't mind players getting pumped and letting their emotions show though clearly pre-prepared OTP celebrations (outside of Gini's aeroplane) are a bit cringe worthy. Or when (I am picking him at random not because I remember him doing it) someone like a Papley celebrates like he has just won the GF after kicking a goal when his team is still down by 10 is just next level cringe.
