I reckon if that was brought it you wouldn't see another 5+ year contract.

Surely there is no way a a club would pay that price for matching a bid that early in the draft. I can see really early picks not being matched. That is a high price to pay.

Next few drafts will be interesting, with the two most hyped kids for next year being tied to Carlton and Port.

Then in 2027, Port have another two highly rated kids, and the Essendon nuffies are hyping Koby Bewick.

And 2028, the hype has started for the younger Walker already.

I think this is a pretty fair deal for both teams, albeit slightly better for the Swans. Curnow is 29 years old but could be transformative for that Swans team.

They'll probably make a prelim at minimum. Melbourne will be battling with Essendon for the spoon.

Shocking deal from the Suns on paper, however they have the academy picks anyway I guess. If you want to cash in on early draft picks then Gold Coast is your best bet. I think they could have got Petracca for less.

You would almost take Flanders over Petracca these days and one cost 3 first rounders.

Got the player they wanted, plus the required picks to match bids on their academy kids this year and next.

They don’t need draft picks, they just need points.

Port have a top 2 nga kid next year, two highly rated father sons and very highly rated nga kid in 2027.

Their list right now is a bit of a mess, but they have the kids coming through from their premiership team, to get through the Tassie drafts.
