My biggest criticism of Weitering is that nearly every time I have seen him play, he plays selfishly in the sense that his only goal is to make sure his direct opponent wont get a touch. He doesn't seem to leave his direct opponent often to get involved in the play and help his teammates out. Very much a yeah we lost but my opponent didn't kick any, so if all you guys shut down your guy like I did then we would be fine. I have seen him let player/s streak towards goal when he was the closest Carlton player that should've been attempting to do something. Instead he just sits on his man and an easy goal is kicked.

Carlton are the most "finish 13th" team in the comp. They'll bully the apocalyptically shit teams like West Coast and North but once they come up against a team that can put pace on the ball and expose their slow midfield they'll fall apart.

Luckily they've got plenty of prime time night games because it wouldn't shock me if they melted in the sun.

Has no attacking capability either. In that we got Zac out of Schache, I reckon we won the 1-2 comparison in that draft.

This is EXACTLY his MO and it is why his AA jumper over Harris was so egregious. Yeah, he had great defensive stats in 2024 individually but Carlton as a team had the worst defensive record of any team that played finals.

They conceded the 5th most points against that season, only conceding less than Richmond, norf, west coast and essendon!
