Thoroughly enjoyed watching the second half, particularly arguably the best ruck in the past half dozen years dismantle the highest paid ruck who wouldn’t be top 6.

I’m expecting NAS to free up some space in the salary cap and leave for SA when his contract expires, but if he doesn’t Saints Footy are in a world of pain - players like Max Hall would be on low income and clubs will be coming hard for him. Can add a few more. They’ll lose 2 players for every one they draft.

Port about to lose Butters, go through a mini rebuild, have a stack of high end fathers sons and NGA’s in the next two drafts on low cost, controlled salaries (and will have the picks to match by forcing a trade for Buuters). Should be able to offer NAS a contract St Kilda can’t match.

This is insane. It has the Gubby hallmark all over it. Unfortunately for the Saints, it’s now out in the open. I usually avoid using the word spud in any serious context, it’s something I reserve for light‑hearted banter. But in this situation, I couldn’t be happier to see an insignificant non‑entity like St Kilda wallow in their own ineptitude signing spuds on multy million dollar contracts.
