I really enjoy watching the Suns play. They move the ball at pace once it gets to the outside. Guys like Saad, Harbrow and Hall appear to have a licence to try and break a line. They still don't appear to be a great kicking side but instead rely on run and energy to break a side down. They win the ball (which the Suns have been good at since they came into the comp) and then take off. Sometimes they'll use a KK or Malceski to kick through a zone but mostly those kicks still set off a chain of quick ball movement leading to a forward entry. It is just good to watch.

It just says to me that you build a game plan around your strengths, taking into account modern styles of play, rather than the other way around. I suspect that's the realisation we have reached and the reason we have a change-up in game style this year.

Of course, we don't have Tom Lynch or Steven May which limits how far we can take that gameplan.

I've just never bought into the rivalry between the two clubs. I'd go for Gold Coast most weeks if they're not playing Brisbane.
When I think about the crimes the Suns have supposedly committed against us, they either aren't the Suns fault (eg start up concessions, lack of AFL support for us when they were introduced) or they weren't exactly club destroying (the combined effect of poaching Brennan and Rischitelli).

Put it this way, we have more in common with them than the big Melbourne clubs. At least the Suns don't assume (and demand that) the footy world revolves around them.

In any game I watch I tend to always have a side I would prefer to win. I find in most Suns games, I want them to win. But it's not passionate support like I have with Brisbane. Happy to go to their games in the same way that I have attend other AFL games in Melbourne between two non Brisbane teams. If they ever have a home final at Metricon I will probably go because how often do we get to see finals footy live up here?

Suns doing well can only help the AFL in QLD. At this point, there is no detriment to our club, but infact it is probably more the opposite where we can benefit from some additional publicity of the code.

Is Melbourne suddenly horrible again or is North Melbourne a much better team this year and we actually put up a bigger fight last week than we first thought. Likely just Melbourne being Melbourne again.
