Adams is an absolute shocking kick for a so called "gun midfielder".

Watching their game against the Bombers, geez James Stewart would have been a handy father/son for them up forward. It made me go and check who they ignored him for in that draft... Maynard.

Derek Hine is a master recruiter and all that though...
Jake Kelly's looking pretty good this season too.

I think the way it would work would be the head coach would sit down with his HOF and list management team and discuss what their needs were draft/trading wise and they would then relay onto the recruitment staff/scouts etc. what type of player they would like, head coaches would have virtually zero input as far as a particular player was concerned on draft night but would have some say re trading.

Fagan has stated that he is after players with elite disposal skills. He would not be saying stuff like I want Cerra over Dow to his staff with that responsibility.

My 2 cents worth.
Yeah. If the senior coach is making specific decisions about who to draft then that means either that
  • the senior coach is spending a whole bunch of time watching u18 games rather than working with the group they have or
  • the senior coach is overriding the decisions made by people who actually are watching the u18 (and u17, and championship, etc) games and have the legitimate expertise to be making those decisions

According to afl.com Harley Bennell only needs to get through training without any hiccups before finally making his return via Peel after 16 months battling ongoing calf complaints. Probably fair to say calf complaints and other issues.

Video games are a team aren't they?
Prince James still can't get a game, nor being selected as an emergency.
I honestly wonder what we could have made of him in the Fagan era. So many other of that crop have come on under Fages that he must be wondering the same thing.

Am I missing something or hasn't he missed closer to 20-22 months? Started last pre-season, around January from memory?

Regardless, common sense says there is more to it than a simple calf strain.

Looks like we have missed out on Nathan Fyfe, we'll have to move on to Dustin Martin now.

Fyfe has accepted a deal estimated to be in the region of $1.4 million a season and around up to $6 million if his terms are over four years. WOW!!!

Was it Rodney Eade who said under the new TPP and with free agency the median wage won't change much but the elite footballers will see big pay rises?

$1.5mil a year will become the new benchmark for these stars.

While on Collingwood, I am really disappointed in the way they are handling the Buckley coaching situation.

No emergency board meetings, threats to depose the President, burn down the grandstand... Nothing.

Buckley being interview coming across as a reasonable guy handling the situation with maturity. What is going on? I have been waiting years for the melt down.

Come on Collingwood lift your game.

Have you visited the Collingwood board on BigFooty? They are in meltdown on a regular basis.

Gee it's a high intensity high octane game tonight, one stoppage in the first 15 minutes, end to end stuff.
Pretty exciting game, I think fagan likes to play a high stoppage game. If we allowed teams to play like that against us. We would probably be down by 40 right now.

Saint Kilda should be down by that as well but Essendon has just missed really easy shots. Good to see that despite the Dons being able to play really well, we still managed to beat them
