Speaking of commentators saying weird things...I didn't quite catch exactly what Hamish Mclachlan said but after two players had a contest on the boundary he said something along the lines of "You'd love to see those two go at it wrestling in jelly", Someone said you don't want to see that and then Hamish followed up with mud wrestling. Was awkward to listen to.

Those comments from Barry Hall are bizarre. In what world did he think it ok to say something like that, let alone live on air while at work. Wow.
The whole conversation is just wrong. How and why would you ever get onto such a topic?
Again the whole boys club media really is pretty pathetic

In one article it said how laughing was heard in the background....haven't seen or heard anymore about that part. I've been wondering if Montagna was laughing too.

...would like to know more about his part in this unsavoury conversation. Is he sacked too or reprimanded?

..the whole thing really is quite bizarre.

Has there been a clearer demonstration of what meathead behavior is than what Barry Hall said last night?

Yet the AFL keep employing blokes like Hall despite them having bricks for brains. If the AFL actually sought out the best commentary team and helped develop their abilities the game would be instantly more watchable. I think my interest in watching opposition games has waned due to the commentary more than anything.

As stupid as it sounds, we really should look at how WWE approach commentary - have the play by play and colour commentators as well as investing in developing and training newer commentators. Reward blokes who are actually good at their jobs (ability to commentate, knowledge on teams etc) and stop giving jobs to ex players just because they're ex players.

“Locker Room Talk”. Just like the Dorito Dictator/Mango Mussolini himself.

Hopefully just a symptom of the current death rattle of boorish toxic masculinity.

Guffawing simpletons.

*insert Triple M jingle here*
You did it again TBD, I had to google Guffawing, you are expanding my vocabulary on a regular basis, Roylion fulfills that role on the SRP board for me.

Is this why you're always telling me to improve the game chairs and ladders need to be added to the field?

There's about 6 radio commentary teams alone that all cater to different areas and demos. Anyone who tunes in to Triple M over one of the other options knows what they're getting. Simpletons if you want to call it that. Bit rough IMO. I don't mind National Indigenous Radio when I want actual analysis.

BTW haven't seen a single person try and defend it as locker room talk. Had a scan through twitter and every single comment I saw supported his sacking.
