Fortitude Valley Diehards. Chelsea.
Really good game, open free flowing end to end stuff in difficult conditions, what congestion problem? The Lions and the Pies might have started a trend last week.

Swans love drafting blokes who look like they can put on some serious size especially through the rookie draft... We used to draft skinny kids from the rookie draft instead and obviously it never worked out well. Ronke another rookie draft special.

The Swans just seem to replenish their side again and again. The academy has helped but their development of players is top class. Tonight they had Ronke with 7 goals, Hayward with 3 goals, Heeney 28 possessions, Florent 25 possessions, Mills 18 possessions and Nick Blakey heading to them in the upcoming draft and considered a top 5 talent. Would have to be considered among the best young talent in the AFL and yet they've been a top 4 side for the past 6 odd years.

Showdown should be fun today.

At full strength I’d say Crows in a canter but their injury list makes it more of a contest.

Another loss today and Port’s lofty ambitions for this season look significantly hampered.

Sydney's development is just insane. They seem to look for a certain type with their lower and rookie picks, low centre if gravity, well balanced types and turn them into Sydbots.

I think Sydney are just the perfect example of a system team.

Build the game plan, get a good enough core to deliver it and lead it and then you can just keep plugging new players into the holes and they get lifted straight up by the rest.

As long as you can maintain that critical mass of core contributors, and continue to make the plan understandable to the rest, you are apples for a long time. Just keep cycling the right talent through via trade and draft.

That’s where we need to get to. Sustained, consistent execution of a game plan by a talented core. Then all the C graders that we lynch each week come into their own as role players. Going to take time to get there.

I am envious of no supporter base more than Sydney’s. Would they have gone to any game in the last decade without feeling like they were a great chance to win? Plus you get the Buddy show on top.

What a luxury.

I just think of them as the team that broke the cola and 'levelled' the system, zeroing the chances of financial offsets for other clubs. Like us.

If it was us though, I'd be happy.

How the **** did Parker not get suspended?
[based on only seeing the footage once last night] I think it is fair enough. Impy was a gumby. If he was suspended...is the effect of that asking that both players guess what the other is going to do or do they both have to go in head first???

Most players have had it drilled into them to go head first because these type of incidents have been suspensions in the past. Parker led with the hip and Impey came off second best.

If this is now ok then everyone can go back to leading with the hip again.
