Thinking of catching a train from Beenleigh to Roma Street??

Only just moved to Brisbane!
I’d jump off at South Brisbane station. It’s basically across the road from the Cultural Centre busway station which has buses that go through Woolloongabba pretty much every 2 minutes.

Interesting that Campbell Brown (ex-Suns) player has said (rather was adamant) that he’d put everything on it that Tom Lynch will not be at the Suns next year.

I’m almost hoping we don’t finish above the Suns because if Lynch were to leave, the AFL would most certainly award the Suns (its own club) a pick directly after their first pick which would further dilute the draft if we were to finish above them.

No; I’m not endorsing tanking, ever.

How ******* good was Sydney’s Ben Ronke?! And pick 17 in the rookie draft, what a get!
Knightmare from the BF phantom draft/trade/FA board had Ronke in his top 25 power rankings in his draft year. He didn't have him in his phantom draft as he had heard clubs were't interested.

I was all for the Hawkins suspenion, there's zero room for touching umpires. But... how... how... does Ed Curnow get off? I thought there was no grey area around touching umpires? If Hawkins were a lions player i'd be fuming. They got this one embarrassingly wrong.

Coming out of a scuffle, umpire approaches, puts his hand on his chest and pushes umpire away... 1 week.

I can not for the life of me comprehend their reasoning behind letting him off.

Agree, particularly when there were 2 incidents the week after the Hawkins one. They should have suspended Curnow and May to press the point, as it obviously meant zero, suspending Hawkins. It's not so much a matter of punishing, as it should be about sending a message. When the message was missed by 2 players within the same week, they had to back it up.
May would have got off because they need as competitive side they can muster for China. Curnow, who knows, maybe just a favour for a shit, but still big club. Curnow's was worse than May's, but both should have gone. Typical I guess of the inconsistency, and they wonder why no one knows the rules or what's allowed. Apparently what they did is relatively okay. AFL is a circus.

May and Charlie at least were doing something that wasn't solely trying to touch an umpire. Ed should have got a week. There's a difference between Hawkins incident and may & Charlie. If Hawkins only got 1 week then others need to get less.

Jury still out on ronke might be the next Dean polo. 1 game doesn't make a career.

Having said that he will prob kick 10 against us

Give the money being talked about at the moment I think it is a certainty the suns would get a pick after their first pick

Reading some of the media articles about the Curnow brothers with one getting a fine and one getting a suspension, it leaves me wondering what the uproar is about.

The guy who looked at the umpire and touched him got suspended.

The one who didn't and just brushed them away without any indication they knew it was an umpire as opposed to anyone else got fined.

*shrug* Seems to make sense to me?

If he touches an umpire "inappropriately" does he get more or less weeks?

If Ed Curnow had placed his hand on the chest of Eleni Glouftsis to brush her away who was umpiring in the same match I wonder what her reaction would have been and that of the wider group of media/supporters/MRP?

A six figure payment and all parties to swear an oath of silence would have sorted it out I reckon.

Fogarty is going to be a serious player in a few years. I can understand why the Crows dug in as much as they did for pick 12.

Shame we were the club that blinked.

What is this "blinking " that you speak of?

We gave the Crows Pick 12 for Charlie.

We did that with our eyes wide open.

Seems to me, that we made a commercial decision that a known class player who unequivocably stated a desire to play for us was a better proposition than "Pick 12"

So your argument appears to be that we would have been better off telling Charlie that he was not worth the price of admission but instead hung on to the coveted Pick 12 who we would have spent on Fogarty, knowing of course that he was going to be such a superstar in the making.....or not as the case may be.

Geez a dog with a bone, maybe the club knew he was SA was only ever going to play for a SA team or at worst an interstate team for 2 years.

Remember that time we kept good draft picks?
The time we got James Aish?
The time we got Josh Schache?
That time we got Billy Longer?
That time we got Sam Docherty?
Jared Polec?

Yeah, some winners and losers in there talent wise, but none wanted to stay.
Alternatively you can trade for a known quantity, who wants to come, AND has already done their apprenticeship.
