No doubt, but would it take midfield minutes from blokes like McCluggage and Berry who are our long term mids? Yes. Pros and cons and in the end his pick allowed us to trade up to secure Bailey so definitely a long term win at this stage.
And playing worse over the next year or 2 will help our draft position.

To be fair, they aren't playing full time midfield anyway, and aren't really up to it just yet either. I mean, we're playing Beams in the midfield full time and he's not exactly been killing this season.

Can somebody "please explain" Essendon thrashing Geelong? Thank god I gave up footy betting years ago, this season would have ruined me!
It'll all make sense tomorrow when we thrash the Hawks in the massacre on grass.

Remember that time we kept good draft picks?
The time we got James Aish?
The time we got Josh Schache?
That time we got Billy Longer?
That time we got Sam Docherty?
Jared Polec?

Yeah, some winners and losers in there talent wise, but none wanted to stay.
Alternatively you can trade for a known quantity, who wants to come, AND has already done their apprenticeship.
Well said Skoob -nail on head!

I think someone made that joke last year when they wore them as a domestic violence/gender equality thing.

Must be a yearly thing for them now. Good initiative.
I didn't realise they wore them last year or why they're wearing them today.

Nothing was mentioned on any of the footy programs last week.

Aslo seemed odd when Geelong had orange on the tops of their socks in the game against GWS too, although some players seemed to fold them in such a way that the orange wasn't exposed eg. Dangerfield (and he had his socks pulled up).

I am sure I saw them in a game earlier in the year.

Dangerfield didn’t wear them as they didn’t make ones large enough for him to get them over his calves. That was reported during the Geelong v GWS game and throughout the media the following week.

The media hype has been behind us for most of the time. Its been some fans here thinking its the end of the world when 2016 was completely worse.
I really don't think we've had much media hype. This year when the media has spoken about us it's been the "best 0 - X" team ever stuff but before that, not so much. Occasionally our youth has been rated. We really haven't been spoken about much in anything other than negatives for quite some time in the footy media.
