The Kangaroos were working on a deal with Port Adelaide and Fremantle that would send defender Byron Pickett and midfielder Stuart Cochrane to Port, Fremantle defender Leigh Brown and Port mid-fielder Michael Stevens to Arden Street and selection 15 in the national draft to Fremantle


LEIGH BROWN AND MICHAEL STEVENS FOR PICKETT?! WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?!

THIS MUST NOT AND CANNOT HAPPEN.. PICKETT MUST STAY OR WE MUST GET SOMETHING GOOD

If they want Michael Stevens, fine send Cochrane to Port for M.Stevens.... straight swap..

The Pickett trade.. gees I would have to look at freos list.. but NOT LEIGH BROWN.

Is this for real?

I have heard big wraps on Brown, however I dunno if he would be worth giving up pickett up for! Even with Little Stevens this deal would not work out for the roos. I don't mind picking up stevo or brown, but not at the expense of our hardest nut!

I guess this is legitemate information coming from realfooty?

Sure is for real..

Only ONE way I would give up Pickett.. and that would mean getting Yze or Judd.. neither is gonna happen.. PICKETT MUST STAY.

Leigh Brown is a key defender who can pinch hit up forward. Very well built for his age, kinda like his namesake at Brisbane. Are Leigh and Jon Brown related? They both look alike and are very big boys. I wouldn't mind him, but i hear over here in Freo that he has a lack of speed, which is wot we do not need in our 'slow' side. I would want to hold on to Pickett for another year at least if not for much longer

Can you paste the link to this article, l cant find it on the Realfooty website.

Leigh Brown is a raw kid with a load of talent, l dont mind the swap, but would prefer a 2nd round pick from Port Power to juice it up a bit.

Pickett could be wanting to leave next year in any case, and if he had a bad year, then his value becomes less again. Cochrane for Stevens is fair enough, but a straight swap of Brown for Pickett is a little unbalanced, need an extra pick in there.
