I will say it for you.
Our midfield sucks, and can't kick goals.
Our rucks are non-existent.
Our backmen will not mind their men.
Our forwards are having to deal with shithouse delivery week after week.
Our coach does not seem to have a game plan, or if he does he has failed to communicate it effectively.
We are bottom with 45%.
Carey will probably get a holiday for whacking Dunkley (who is nearly as good an actor as Lloyd, by the way).
Can it get any worse ?
You bet it can - Adelaide in Adelaide & Geelong in Geelong in the next 2 rounds.
The only thing looking good is our finances, which have all but turned around.

Fellow supporters will be baying for my blood, but I think Pagan's time is up.

If you get rid of Pagan, you seriosuly need your head checked. Pagan got you to where you are. Now would be a good time to lay a few bets on North making the top 8. Their odds will have lengthened considerably, and if I were you, i'd plonk 20 bucks on them now.

I didnt like the look of the Roos opening few rounds. Unfortunatly the worst has come to bear nought from three. Still, there is promise, though the kids didnt shine tonight, Harris Smith etc are quality youngsters.

I dont think North will make the finals this year, the 'mid-range' 22-27 year olds are just goers at best. But if Petrie can come through in a hurrry and perhaps Sav and the Duck can form a better understanding who knows what might happen for the rest of the year. One thing they are in desperate need of is a crumbing goal kicker. Again tonight that area was abysmal. King and Grant are more half forward 'swoopers' than crumbers and Harvey is now needed with Bells loss on the ball full time.
Dont know of any names, but perhaps Stevo could pinch hit there for a while. As Pagan is currently not really playing him as a true centreman (more a tagger in my view) with his in and under nous around Sav and Wayne he could be worth a punt.

Cheers

Ha Ha Ha Ha
cik & cup half full, hope you are suffering big time, maybe you should be worrying more about your own team than getting enjoyment out of bagging another team for losing.

This sounds suspicioulsy like how we USED think about Collingwood. The same problems which hopefully are now rectified.

There is one common factor between the two sides which I hate to say it cause I used to love the guy - Sav Rocca. Sorry Roo supporters he will bring you down. We used to say all these things. God help you now. Oh well you've had your turn anyway.

By the way I didn't think your captain getting stuck into the crowd was good for trying to lure Sydney supporters to follow the Kangas. Hasn't got much of a brain has he.

Don't blame the coach

Along with a few others. There are some who appear to have a guaranteed game every week.

How pathetic is that ? You can't blame Sav for your own inadequacies anymore so you blame him for our defeats ?
No wonder he was glad to leave.
We have heaps of problems, but Sav has nothing to do with them.

After 8 seasons around the top of the ladder, this is NOT the time to start demanding the axing of Pagan. This is the time to GET BEHIND THE COACH AND THE BOYS.

A couple of cases in point.

1998 and at the halfway point of the season, Carlton are looking at their first ever wooden spoon under Parkin. One season later they were in the Grand Final and last season would have made the Grand Final if it wearn't for injuries.

1997/98 and wearn't the knives out for Sheedy then? By 2000 they had one of the greatest seasons on records.

Pagan has had about 20 years of coaching experience from under 19s to senior AFL level and you want that thrown away on the basis of 3 thrashings? Parkin has had his dark days, so has Sheedy. All three are very shrewd men and excellent coaches.

Everyone knows about North's financial troubles, but did anyone throw in the towel? NO....we just got on with the job of getting behind the club and getting money together. We're now in trouble on the field....NOW it's time to get behind the coach and the team.

I might not know much about the Kangaroos but i do know that they are not goners. In round 1 they played Essendon, round 2 Brisbane at the GABBA and round 3 against Sydney in sydney. Any other teams would probably have lost those games. I never got to see those games but i heard about the terrible performances. They have 15 home games ahead. Surely they will improve.

Very well said shinners. i am still quietly confident that we will turn things around on field and still make the eight.

Have to strongly disagree with you CIK. No matter the talent of the coach/players, you cannot expect a team to remain up there (top 4) for so long in the draft concession/salary cap environment, without having a quiet season. His performances have already been remarkable, and in my opinion, you guys would be crazy to let him go. Which other coach in the league would have taken ANY team to 7 straight prelims? Pagan has been instrumental in your success, and will be once again, when you return to the top flight, whether it’s later this season, or next season.

As Shinboners pointed out, Essendon were after Sheedy's head for a while, but they gave a tried and proven coach the benefit of the doubt .... and look at the team he has built from then on. Who’s to say that Dennis can’t develop a list to that level, with your current base of core stars, and then through the addition of the likes of Harris/Smith as consistent performers in a couple of years?

Would you think that a lot of improvement would come from a rookie coach, or an ex (sacked)coach? Most of the points you made in the post related to players problems... so what would a new coach improve on, over and above Pagan? More importantly, if he and the club parted company, who would you get? Think about it.... the options wont exactly see you guys drooling! And would the new coach have the full support of the team? Pagan has been a large part of their lives, not just in a football sense. How gutted would a Carey etc. be, with the bloke/mate he’s shared it all with, the bloke that he respects most in his career, all of a sudden not being there? Would he be as responsive to a Brian Royal? I doubt it. Would you get the West Coast syndrome, where the players, in the back of their minds are thinking “this coach is shit compared to Denis”? Would this kind of possible resentment improve the team? No. So, why risk it? It would just be a HUGE mistake.

He's shown a fair bit of loyalty to you guys, has probably rejected BIG bucks to go to some of the richer clubs. I think it's only fair he's given the same loyalty when things aren't going so well. He is North Melbourne. He loves the club. Finding a coach who has that same passion for HIS club instilled in him will be bloody difficult.

It's a natural reaction for some supporters- sack the coach- but it’s not like you’re talking about Ayres!

You do not want to lose someone of the calibre of Pagan. You will regret it. Imagine the heartache at seeing him coaching/(re)building a WC/Freo/Adelaide team to a premiership.... and thinking, “f***, we had the best coach in the league once- but we got rid of him because of 3 losses to the top three teams during a slow start in 2001”....

Sorry Shinners, but I cannot agree.
Exactly how does a group of supporters "getting behind the coach and the boys" improve on field performance.
How does it improve the lamentable form of Corey McUseless?
How does it teach Clayton to hit a target? How does it help us win a midfield possession?
How does it have any bloody effect on our final score?
It doesn't, it just makes us all feel warm & fuzzy.
Group hugs and positive thoughts just won't cut it. We need results.
