Re: North Central Football League

wouldnt get to excited about charlton..they won the game due to a five minute laps from boort in the second quarter, Thommo dominated the game in the ruck and dominated in the complaining to the umpire department aswell!!
charlton did thump boort rd 1 last year so wouldnt take all that much from saturday!!

5 minute lapse or not, it is still recorded as a win to them. (Is that what happened in September last year?)

Thommo loves to b$tch to the umps! When will he give it up?

Re: North Central Football League

Something i've noticed and i'll like to hear (or read) what people have to say about it: Charlton play the team coming off the bye each week. Surely they are at a disadvantage over the entire home and away season. Wychie was the unfortunate team to have it last year and don't think it helped their cause/pain one bit. Is there not a better way to perhaps fix the draw for next season or is each club happy to take a turn?

It is always a good argument and both situations have their pro's and con's.

Re: North Central Football League

Patty, were you at the Wedderburn Game?
Na wasn't at the game cos we started saturday. Have had a bit of a run down by some burn folk but wanted some report to gauge how birchip players went?

As for the midfield battle. I think with the inclusion of Gash this year and DeAraugo to come back in this week (played reserves on the weekend). And also Turnbull, I think the burn's midfield is one of the better ones.

What i did hear though is that the Burn were undisciplined giving away 5 50m penalties and one yellow card in the space of 5 mins. Which hurt their momentum as they had grab control of the game and were kicking away. Should have won by more, possibly!

Re: North Central Football League

Charlton must have played fairly well, Andrews was coaching from the sidelines and he adds 30 quality touches to that side. i also think Charlton will crave a bit of dry weather. Did Boort have any one missing?

Birchip Watchem apparently dominated the game early very quick free flowing football, but then when the rain came the burn came into their own and dominated preceedings from then on.

Much the same at Wyche. Donald was on top early, then when it got a bit greasy, the tables turned. Donald missed a lot of opportunities early to blow the game wide open, Jono Grylls kicked 3 in the 3rd quarter and looked like he was goin to win the game for Wyche.
Umpiring was pretty terrible. The two blokes blew their whistle waited to hear what the crowd yelled out and then made a decision. Neither side could really figure out what the umps where goin to do next. Wyche. would get the free's for a while then it seemed to swing into Donalds favour, maybe it was being first in for the footy as well.
Donald blooded 3 new youngsters. Aaron Grant, Jacob Walmsley and Nathan Wright. Grant kicked two vital last quarter goals to seal it for Donald.

MasterofRoc,
was wondering how the reserves are going? they were terrible agints birchip, is that the best they have got? i think the mighty bulls and wedderburn are a class above.

st.a twos are the worst side i have ever seen.. i happened to be up there against birchip. i was amazed just how bad they were.. the coach must be so dissappointed in them..

Thanks Hitlar, from what i seen (i was on the ground) their seniors and reserves are pathetic, cant wait to meet again. I was at the awards after the game, DC got best for the bulls he's direct opponent Hando got in St A best, work that out. Why do teams continually cling on to broken down players in the seniors, when they should be in the reserves helping out the kids?

There were 4-5 not playing against Birchip for disciplinary reasons... two were Senior Certaintys...and atleast one was a garuanteed 2's+ player they wouldn't have made the difference in the game ofcourse, however it couldn't have helped...Birchp will have a strong 2's side all year, with injuries depending ofcourse

Not a bad sum up of the game. I would say that when White got sent off ( which was a terrible decision, know idea what he got sent off for) in the second quarter Donald had a perfect opportunity to run away with the game but didn't seem to have the legs. Was a good hard game. A good solid forward is what wyche lacks more then anything if they had one it would make a big difference. Umpiring was some of the worst i have come across didn't know what was the free being paid and sometimes didn't even know what side it was being paid to. Both teams will improve through out the season.

Me too! Think alot have written off Donald and Wyche, with a few inclusions into both sides over the next few weeks that didn't play on the weekend. Will be a good tussle next time these two go at it. Also heard from the weekend that Wyche were quite confident of upsetting Boort (I think that's who they play this coming weekend)

Re: North Central Football League

Boort controlled the majority of the frist half but failed to capitalise on oppurtunities especially in the 2nd term where i think charlton scored five goals to none....as stated most were in a five-ten minute burst close to half time. Last half was pretty even until charlton just snuck outa reachtowards the end. Charlton a very well drilled side and boort a little patchy in wet conditions.

well its got me beat why they dont drop back and help out the kids. i no from experince that having older footballers in the twos helps.. the young fellas get a real buzz out of it.. and on the hando side well you better be kidding about him getting an award. i just hope for the leagues sake they improve..
