Re: North Central Football League

Something i've noticed and i'll like to hear (or read) what people have to say about it: Charlton play the team coming off the bye each week. Surely they are at a disadvantage over the entire home and away season. Wychie was the unfortunate team to have it last year and don't think it helped their cause/pain one bit. Is there not a better way to perhaps fix the draw for next season or is each club happy to take a turn?
Yeah it is a bit dodgy when its like that but what are you going to do about it? Obviolusly they are limited with the number of teams, but surely it could have been changed around a little bit so its not the same side coping it all the time. This year Birchip will play every team the week before that team has the bye, so it will be interesting to see which has a bigger impact.

(interesting to note that it was Donald last year that played sides the week before the bye)

2005 - It was St Arnaud (6th) that played teams after the bye and Boort (5th) that played teams before the bye

2004 - Wedderburn after the bye and Charlton and Wyche alternated before the bye

Just some useless stats for u

Good advice, the only extra info I'd add is that if the ONLY thing someone is contributing to a thread is negative commentary on something, or if some negative line is being pursued and repeated overly tiresomely, then that is a breach of rules.

So report the post if you don't like it, allow people to have their opinions, but don't ruin a thread through droning on and on after an argument is already ancient.

I'll try not to be too rough on yers :)

Re: North Central Football League

yes ryan did kick 11 on holmes and from speaking to him after the game the young fella was shattered. he will bounce back though.
Maybe he should have shared his dissapointment with a few of his team mates who let the likes of DC and the boys hit cliff on the left one with out any pressure, you would expect wholesale changes at St A this week coming off the bye. Thompson, Andrews & Co will absolutely eat St A on the weekend.

Re: North Central Football League

Charlton must have played fairly well, Andrews was coaching from the sidelines and he adds 30 quality touches to that side. i also think Charlton will crave a bit of dry weather. Did Boort have any one missing?
Pez missing for Boort...think you might remember him bend it..:D

Re: North Central Football League

think birchip and boort will get back on the winning wagon this week. will fraser play on ryan? think he is a top defender, maybe a little slow tho....especially if reasonable delivery is given to ryan. Who from wychie will stop perryman, rutley and co down forward. think they will have their work cut out for them. And poor old st arnuad will really struggle against charlton. big win coming up for the navies

Re: North Central Football League

Did anyone notice a certain somebody playing the early game up at birchip on saturday. Must be some fair depth if they run him through the maggoo's and still knock off the flag favourites in the main game.

Re: North Central Football League

Haven't seen enough of him personally...but i think 1's footy is quite possibly too quick for him
While Cua would be the first to admit he isn't the quickest player going around he has a good football head on his shoulders which definately makes up for his lack of pace. i think you'll find he has been in the best the first 2 weeks for the saints. he's not the type of player that's gonna get 35 touches but the touches he gets are usually quality touches. ANd just been talking to the cua MOR and he said he's happy to challenge you to a foot race lol.[/quote]

are you joking or dreaming? cua? well i am lost for words.. is he the best forward pocket player your club can manage? thanks for making me laugh number 5..

You have to remember that these "new recruits" weren't brought to the club as "already made stars of the game" give the side some time and results will show...we are coming off a time of huge beltings week after week... and it doesn't help the kids morale to come up against the top 3 sides in the first 3 games...as i said. Positive signs, and things will happen in time....
