The jungle drums are beating from the media that the Sanders prelisting is a good chance of happening.

Quite right considering the leg up academies get every year and the GC assistant package all clubs signed off on a few years ago.

Just about every year of our rebuild the top end of the draft has been compromised.

The McKay compo is separate and available to any club, but I'm sure people will still complain about that when it comes through.
Wonder if North will get compensation when Tassie snaffle him up.

I think McKercher is far more likely to leave his club (likely us as well if you believe Twoomey and McGowan) than Sanders.

I think McKercher will get the Scully type offer.

Sanders close mates with Sheezel also.

The other thing is if Tasmania are only allowed to recruit 1 player from each club, taking the 2 Tasmanian's would be quite smart.

Lets be real, as well; if Tasmania are allowed to poach Tasmanian players from clubs, Tarryn Thomas would be taken from North.

Plenty of nuffies on here will somehow paint North losing their best defender to a rival club for $800k a season as a priority pick.

Loading up on more 18 year old mids would not be smart. You’ll be here in 12 months time sooking about the same things you are now.

As mentioned, the Bombers have identified adding a key defender as their big priority in a logical move given the club’s ongoing woes down back. But to land the top-tier defensive guns, they’ll need to fork out accordingly.

According to the Herald Sun, Ben McKay could yield a deal worth up to $800,000 per season, which might be what it takes for the Kangaroos to get a high enough compensation draft pick to allow the key defender to walk.

They Bombers face stiff competition from the surging Power for McKay’s services, but Essendon appears to have several advantages including its link to the 25-year old through Scott, his former coach, and its strong salary cap position.

Thanks for this insight! Could you please indicate which high-quality 100+ gamer KPP veterans Carlton are willing to trade to North in exchange for draft picks?

I've heard good things about this 'Harry McKay'. Is he similar to Ben?

Also for what it's worth there are many NMFC supporters (myself included) who would strongly prefer to keep McKay if we can make it happen.

The same Ben McKay that is only slightly better than Sam Frost? Could you imagine if Hawthorn lost Frost and recieved pick 4 as a compensation pick for him?

It all comes down to the new contract signed by the departing player. If you have complaints, send them to Essendon who are apparently offering McKay $800k a year.

Are they? Where?

Or are you making this up just as you did the last time you posted it? In fact last time you posted that the ruling was in…yet now only a “good chance of happening”. What’s changed?

Damien Barret said it was very likely but he wouldn't be biased would he? The same Damien Barret who accused Hawks of tanking because he was worried Hawks would take North's precious picks. Pathetic.

You seriously don't read enough if you think Barret is North biased :tearsofjoy:

He's only been banned from the club for about 5 years.

He's as harsh on us as Caro is.

You really think Essendon will pay 800k for a slightly better and younger Sam Frost?

If McKay is worth 800k, what are Sicily, Taylor and Moore worth? More importantly how much is Jordan Ridley worth? $1Mil+?

It's what is being reported in the media, and until we see otherwise that's all we have to go on.

Again, don't complain to me. We don't want to lose McKay, and we didn't invent the compensation rules.

If you think Damien Barrett is biased towards North, you are demonstrating what little awareness you actually have on this topic.

Barrett has been death-riding North for years.

North need experienced talent all over the ground not just KPP.

It’s time to use your draft assets and cap space on bringing some of these players in. It doesn’t matter if you have to pay overs.

FWIW, Clurey, Hamling, Melican, Ratugolea, BZT are some players I would target who are proven enough at the level that could hold down a KPD post whilst those around them develop. None would cost a fortune.

In the mean time draft some KPP talent at the top end instead of neglecting it and then complaining you don’t have any.

They're not going to pay him 800k

He's the only person who thinks North should get a PP. Yeah he hates North, amazing logic

Did you even read what you posted? Nobody has reported an offer of $800k from Essendon.
