Why should north have access to sanders though?
Hawks have put far more work into grassroots level in tassie than North over a longer period of time.

Richmond and stkilda have done a lot of work too.
It’s the zone that north we’re granted; can blame the afl but this isn’t norths fault. I’m not opposed to them getting Sanders for cheap/ free - dogs got JUH for massive unders and they had just won a flag.

I guess Foxsports contract reports suits the narrative for North supporters when they want it to.

This doesn’t suggest anyone has offered McKay 800k, just that that type of deal is what would be required for band 1 compo (North to let him walk without a fight)
Essendon maybe being interested and McKay maybe getting a $800k deal = "apparently Essendon have offered $800k"

Except, you know, it doesn't.

This is hilarious. Nobody is saying Essendon have offered McKay $800K. Yet you seem obsessed with refuting this claim that nobody has made.

Nobody has said "apparently Essendon have offered McKay $800k"?

You really think Essendon will pay 800k for a slightly better and younger Sam Frost?

If McKay is worth 800k, what are Sicily, Taylor and Moore worth? More importantly how much is Jordan Ridley worth? $1Mil+?
It isn't about worth, it is about upping the compensation so you don't have to trade for the player.

Remember when you guys did this?

Did you even read what you posted? Nobody has reported an offer of $800k from Essendon.

Sorry, wouldn't want to be misleading!

For the purposes of 100% accuracy, the media have reported the following:
  • Essendon are interested in Ben McKay
  • The reported salary range McKay will attract is up to $800,000 a season
  • Essendon are considered the favourites because of their salary cap space
It's true that no one has reported the words "Essendon have/will offer McKay $800,000 a year". Congratulations. What a 'gotcha' moment.

I'm aware.

It's what made you accusing people of contradicting media reports that didn't exist so amusing to me.

Taking into account where Norths list is at and their age demographic and their off field instability. I genuinely don't think they have had that bad of a year.
There's a lot of exciting young talent coming through that are nowhere near their peak, they also have a few holes KPP wise.
But all in all I think they aren't far away from shooting up the ladder. I don't believe they are in need of a PP I understand it's been a rough 4 years but I truly believe the worst is behind you.

They need some experienced players if anything not more kids.

North 87 - West Coast 82 - Should win
North 73 - Fremantle 72 - Decent win
North 61 - Hawthorn 80 - Acceptable loss
North 84 - Carlton 107 - Acceptable loss ( with 18 behinds you probably should have won )
North 77 - Lions 152 - Pretty bad ( Top 4 team )
North 54 - Suns 97 - Poor
North 49 - Melbourne 139 - Pretty bad ( Top 4 team )
North 34 - St Kilda 64 - poor
North 65 - Port 135 - Pretty bad ( Top 4 team )
North 90 - Swans 93 - Acceptable loss
North 70 - Collingwood 105 - Acceptable loss ( Best team in the comp )
North 99 - Essendon 105 - Acceptable Loss

North 75 - GWS 103 - Acceptable loss
North 84 - Doggies 105 - Acceptable loss ( Doggies did score a lot of behinds though )
North 72 - Adelaide 138 Pretty bad ( Adelaide at home can do this to most teams out of the 8 )
North 63 - Geelong 125 Poor ( Geelong at home )
North 40 - Hawks 88 Pretty bad
North 61 - Saints 69 Acceptable loss

Pretty solid other than the Hawks game in my opinion. Most if not all teams that aren't top 4 teams drop the ball a few times throughout the season, and find themselves on the end of some belting throughout the year.

“Every year is assessed on its merits,” McLachlan said on Monday.

“We had a year when they got mature-aged players only – I think they picked up (Chris) Burgess, (Josh) Corbett and (Sam) Collins in that draft. And then they were still deemed to be needing more picks and assistance, and they came back and they got an additional pick then.

“If we take that first year of Gold Coast, it’s pretty analogous, which is, ‘they need some help now, this will help them do that’.

A second and third round pick, requiring one to be traded. Totalling 1307 points at present:
Griffin Logue and Darcy Tucker.
Two Category A rookie spots.

2023 concessions?

Priority pick should not exist. At all. Ever (well, maybe in truly tragic circumstances). So, NO. And we should not have got the small bonuses last year either.
The fact that we have quite possibly the worst team assembled in the professional era doesn't change that.
