Gold Coast must draft a minimum of three players at the draft (every club has to). They didn't have three list spots available so had to make some available. Unsure why they chose Greenwood specifically but the reason for delistings is AFL list rules

It wasn't a choice. Unreal they could screw up so bad.

More I think about it, list managers would be negligent not to call in this situation.

Roos had the big bickies to spend, but I thought he'd be more likely to be sniffled by a contender.

I guess on the positive, GC didn't delist King with a view of putting him on the rookie list, so they're not a complete basket case*

What are they meant to say? They delisted a player and he was picked up as a DFA hy another club. They stuffed up and paid the price, they hardly want to be providing the oxygen.

They chose him because they thought him either one of the 3 most unlikely to be wanted by another club or one of the 3 players they least cared if they lost. Or a combo of both.
