I've setup this thread for all North Melbourne and Opposition Supporters to ask questions about North Melbourne players & their relevance to SuperCoach / AFL Fanasy / Dreamteam.

Here is my summary of the relevant players for 2015 (prices are SC):

Rookies

Unfortunately there are no relevant Rookies for Round 1, with no top 10 draft picks in the last draft. One may emerge mid-year, maybe Durdin, but can't see it at this stage.

Mid-Pricers

B Jacobs $258k DEF - Massive speculative pick. Not certain to be picked round 1, but has potential to be a big accumulater of the footy through the midfield if he is backed in & gets his confidence up. Keep in mind at the start of or during the season if he plays & scores a couple of 90's first two games you could trade him in to D6 at a steal.

S Higgins $410k DEF/FWD - Has looked very good pre-season, kicking goals & rolling through the midfield. Will play round 1. Dual Position eligible. Can see averaging 95-100.

S Thompson $422k DEF - Intercept king, capable of scoring big due to that factor. With North Swinging Tarrant to defence this year, along with usual loose man Hansen being out injured, this may allow 'Turbo' to not need to lock down a key forward & take his elite reading of the play to another level. Only concern was a limited pre-season, but he has played NAB Challenge so shouldn't be a major factor.

Wells $361k MID - Pick of the crop, true underpriced premium, cheaply priced due to being injured half of 2014. He has looked mint pre-season - find a spot for him. You're welcome.

Cunnington $497k MID - Club champion, hard ball machine, has looked great pre-season. Could elevate himself to super-premium status by seasons end. Added kicking goals to his resume in 2014. However there are many players at his price point, so won't fit many peoples guns & rookies strategy.

Ziebell $449k MID/FWD - Has potential to go big but he's inconsistent. He's stated publicly his priority is to play every game in 2015, which has been a major problems in seasons past. Tempting, but likely to burn you at some stage. Dual position means a forward line spot gives you a cause for consideration

Premiums

Dal Santo $553k MID - Will probably average 105, elite ball user. However you'd probably look at other super premiums before him.

B Harvey $578k MID/FWD - Personally, I can't see him going as big as in 2015, but you never know with this guy. Will kick goals & go big a few times during the year, but its a pass for me.

Goldstein $574k RUC - Will play 22 games, will average 100. You'd only pick him if you think he'll be a top 2 ranking ruck at seasons end, which could happen but I think for round 1 there's better value to be found elsewhere.

Please feel free to post your thoughts or questions on all things NM fantasy related.

With Jacobs almost invisible in the pre season and Lobbe questionable with the inclusion of Ryder, I'm curious who you think the top 2 rucks will be at season end. I'm backing Goldstein.

Well for one starting spot Leuenberger is looking value, so that leaves you 1 premium to pick. Sandilands, Jacobs, Mumford, Ryder, McEvoy. Hard to have Goldy in front of all of them or potentially others. He may be the pick of them all, not for me though, I'm leaning Sandi at the moment.

Not concerned about Martin having an influence on Luenburgers scores?

i think the addition of luenberger will have a negative impact on martin's scores. My current north players are goldy, spitta and higgins

Swallow at 500k is a bargain. Will av. 110+
I'm backing him in to score a 105-110 avg, solid clearance player

I've had Jamie Macmillan in and out of my Dreamteam at D5 as a cash cow up against Clancee Pearce and Brett Goodes at a similar price, I know you guys rate JMac highly, what will be his role this year? He has averaged 61 and 68 previously in 2012/13.

Either HBF or Wing.

Kayne Turner and Tarrant, both reasonable prices and chance to be cash cows ????
Turner and Wood are too expensive to be good cash cows. You need to trust their scoring potential above cheap rookies if you are going to pick them, and neither has shown yet the ability to get beyond about a dozen possessions a game. Tarrant maybe, but what happens when Hansen comes back in?

Dumont and Garner once they start getting games however ...

Thought on higgins? Has he shown much in pre-season to suggest he could take it to the next level?

He's a pre-season specialist, but he has been flying. Will be playing forward with a few midfield rotations, instead of down back like he was at the dogs. Will be kicking goals and getting decent possession numbers. IMO he's very good value
