Let's make sure to monitor every player taken after this pick too then. All were options.
That is true. Will be interesting to see who North take with Melbourne’s pick compared to who they could of taken at pick 8

For sure.

I will say this, we'll be watching Flynn Perez like a hawk too (and whatever 34 ends up being). The package at least gives us three bites.

Really hope Flynn Perez makes it as a league footballer (such a cool name)

Just been reading his draft bio, kind of feels like a high risk, high reward pick (esp as he coming off an ACL)

Its good to see North taking some risks at the draft after years of (some would say far too Many) conservative/playing it safe selections from Joycey and Brad Scott.

Yep and IIRC we told Flynn pretty early we'd draft him. Had been watching him for years and when he did his ACL the club contacted him to say stick fat, don't let your head drop, do your rehab and you'll be in blue and white (around that mark). I hope that ends up being a mutually beneficial show of faith.

Yeah hopefully Perez can get on the park soon

You do know a loss for either team is 1 step closer to a better pick. 2 top 6 picks is a good start for our rebuild.
Great result for North. Well done

Don't think Melbourne's pick will be in the top 6, esp with Academy Pushbacks and The Dees have a game in hand against very winnable opposition (Essendon)

You guys need a new medical staff as well as high picks, you guys have been really been ravaged all season, which is a significant factor in your poor season.

Dees have also played 5 of the top 6 teams. Port, Brisbane, West Coast, Richmond and Geelong. Two of those were losses by less than a goal. Big games the next 2 weeks against other middle sides Collingwood and the bulldogs will determine where Melbourne finish.

Not so sure they have only beaten 12th, 13th, 14th, 16th & 18th.

There is only one in the top 6 going to the dogs. Not much push back in the top end of this draft.

Also only lost to 5 of the top 6. Two by less than a goal and two the game was still on during the last quarter. Only the Port loss was a real drabbing

Do medical staff stop stupid injuries from happening? Why the f*** do we not have one of these magical shaman? :D

I don't think it'll be top 6 either, more likely/hopefully 8-10 but academy/FS pushbacks are fairly irrelevant, our pool of players is still the same.

Competent ones stop players that can barely walk pre-game from playing.

That's valid but it's been a fair few weeks since that's been an issue. Been far too many North games otherwise where our interchange graphic is 3/4 crossed out.

Eagles touched you up - kicking 3 of the last 4 flattered the score and the Tigers won easily.
Eagles were 27 points up at quarter time despite Melbourne having control of the game. In The first quarter 70% of the game was played in Melbourne’s forward half but the score 5.1 to 0.4. Melbourne lost by 27.

Melbourne we’re coming against Richmond and only 2 goals down with momentum. Oliver horrendous kick in the centre square turned over results in the Richmond sealer. The game was on before that moment.

We beat St Kilda and GWS in rounds 1 and 2.

Yeah good wins, St Kilda are overrated imo. Lost to 3 of the bottom 4 but wins against Port and Richmond look good. Still have to play Geelong, Brisbane and West Coast. If they lose those 3 they’ll be fighting for a top 8 spot.

GWS your best win IMO

Trust me, I'm just using this moment to remember when things looked good.

Eagles lead by 40 points late in the 3rd. They won in a canter.

Yeah only after their 27 point lead a quarter time after Melbourne were the better side. 40 point lead flattered West Coast.
