Think that Bruce needs to get on his bike a bit more and stop trying to crash packs and wrestle his opponent. He is very good when on the lead should leave the one on one work for Timmy who seems to always out jump his opponent whether it be in front or from behind.

Yeah agree he's a good lead up player, basically like Roo the last few years, has the agility and is a very accurate kick for goal. We need Paddy back in to make proper use of JB, Paddy is going to be the pack mark specialist, JB and Members on the lead (although Membrey is a pretty good pack grab for his size).

Also, I saw on that 'defensive pressure' article thingo wasn't Bruce rated as Elite along with Minch?

Unfortunately, I am going to miss this week and next week. A little bit shattered actually. This will be my first holiday in 6 years. Been busting my balls raising a family and getting a business off the ground. The moment I finally get some time to take my foot of the pedal the missus books a holiday that coincides with our biggest game in 5 years.

Hope to come back in a couple of weeks to find out we have dismantled North and taken care of Carlton and everybody on here is frothing about our finals prospects:)

Go Saints!

Yeah Bruce was up there for pressure, either above average or elite with Minchi. Sinclair above average, can't remember the other few.

Just found the rest of the pressure list for our guys- above average and higher.

Jack Steven - Elite
Darren Minchington - Elite
Sam Gilbert - Elite
David Armitage - Above Average
Jack Sinclair - Above Average
Tom Hickey - Above Average
Mav Weller - Above Average

What Gilbert elite at something? No way - he's rubbish don't you know. The worst player ever to pull on the jumper. Blah blah blah blah :D:D:D

We will either win this one or we could loose, not sure it will be one or the other

Gilbert is one of those players that either sets the world on fire or makes you regret your choice of football teams. Kinda like a Geary until 4 weeks ago

I just think fans are harsh judges nowadays. The game is so quick now and decisions need to be made in a split second. yes Gilbo has had some brain fades and yes he has had some bad games but what about the good things that he does (and he does plenty each game) as well as his good games? If he didnt have any of those then he would be dropped. What about all the times he has been forced back to play on players who are 10kgs heavier than he is. yes he is tall but he is also light. Did you know that Robbo is so much heavier than Gilbo?

Just think he is an easy target....I hear fans and posters oud enough when he stuffs up but where are those same fans when he plays well. He was awesome last week. Fans focus on one or two passages of play rather than the whole game - very short sighted.

Glad to see a similar player like Geary starting to turn the doubters into fans too...

I'm glad he plays for us, like so many of our blokes the last few years Boxing above his weight.
Career nearly finished early with injuries he got playing for our club, glad we stuck fat with him.

When we've been good he's been outstanding at times. He's an obvious one to stand out when we are poor, but he's often in a tough position. He's a great size for modern defenders. I love the way he can neutralise a marking contest then speed away with the ball.
