How long does it take to receive memberships in the mail?
I signed up mid December (over 3 weeks ago).

Also, how many members signed already??
I heard St.Kilda has already 10,000!!

My friends and I signed up in mid November 02. We received our memberships just before Christmas. The club reopned today after being closed for Christmas and the New Year. So those people who signed up just before Christmas, should be receiving their memberships within the fortnight.

...sent mine in well before xmas and still nothing.
I just want the sticker at the moment for my car.

Same here,

sent of the family membership pre christmas , thought a new car would be nice.......It's mine I tell you!!!!!!!!!

I know my oldies have recieved all thier gear , I thought ours must have been slow due to "interstatedness"

Apparently the club hasn't got the member caps that were offered yet. However , these will be available asap and at Wizzer Cup games and at the merchandise stand Rd 1 at the G.

A road trip for Cororoo and the family beckons.

I have mine, but my daughters and my wifes(that she knows nothing about) havent come yet. All sent on the same form! I'll call the club if the others aren't here soon.

Signed up nine memberships at the club on 10th December. Eight of the memberships had reserved seats and I haven't received them yet but I have got the one junior membership that did not have a reserved seat.

Good on you:D Dont suppose you found out the number of members we had at that time?

I guess I did send off a form asking for 2 memberships- both requiring reserved seating at the G & Colonial..

I'll wait a bit longer for my membership I guess- as long as dad stops asking me whats happened to them I should be ok

Just noticed a new article on the official site that states that at 24/12/02 we had 5586 members. This is an excellent start and exceeds the target which was 5000.

Well I hope we have had alot sign up since then.. St Kilda are (were) on 10,000 and Carlton are on about 11,000

For any true supporter, who was gonna buy a membership any way, the car should be more then enough incentive to get one before Xmas, one would think.

So does this mean that the other 15,000 members or so, that we are likely to have by the start of the season, have such cash flow problems that they couldn't buy one now?

I am not saying that everyone can afford the membership, but surely if you were gonna buy one, you'd do it in time for the car draw...

Have to disagree with you vlad76. For many people particularly families this is the hardest time of the year financially. There is Christmas, followed by the holidays and then all the expenses involved with getting the kids back to school. Whilst the chance to win a car is a great incentive for some, many people just can't afford to buy a membership in December that they won't be able to use until April.

I assume that the numbers from past years were analysed to set a target of 5000 members by Christmas. To have exceeded the target by around 11.5% is a very good result IMO.

Hmm, if you're right Joybell, then that would represent a reasonable increase if we were to project that same percentage increase onto last years total memberships. Any rise would be good, particularly in view of the perception by naysayers that our membership would drop without Wayne 'franchise' Carey.

Hey I agree with that, I'm not a family, but I pay for my own membership so have to wait for money to come in from xmas (or BIRTHDAY hint hint) not everyone has money lying around waiting to be spent
I got my membership this morning :)
