Spose we are getting thrashed by a team that may play off for the flag. Skills differential is just enormous. We put a lot of heart in first two and a half quarters but you also need a mix of skills.
Tbf we smashed WC last year and they won the flag so game to game it is meaningless

Look, there might be a skill differential, but that's not what's beaten us or the difference between the two sides. It's almost exclusively down to the willingness and the courage to put in the hard work both inside and on the spread.

That perfectly sums up this game. Up until the third it was a genuine arm wrestle, Roos even doing better. I think they started to run out of puff mid third though.

There can be only one...
We should aim our inside 50 kicks at Davis, because then we know they wont go straight to him all the time.

Its skills. They have plenty - we have stuff all. Don't believe at all that we have stopped trying. We are just being totally outclassed.

It isn't skill that stops you putting your head over the ball and winning it in close. It isn't skill that lets you put your head down and really run hard from the contest. It's effort, and that's where we've lost it. Smashing a few blokes off the ball isn't heart. Heart is the willingness to work hard, and our mid group have had none of that today. Just look at the clearance numbers, but also a goal in the third when Kelly and Taranto spread from a contest on our defensive wing to get to the ball in their forward pocket, while our mids were trailing 30 plus meters behind.

The result has NOT been decided by the umpiring. Yes the umpires have been very poor with a lot of decisions and non-decisions going agienst us but the Giants have been comfortably the better team. Slicing us up in space, dominating clearances and scoring efficiency when entering forward 50.
Its not a lack of effort on our part either, GWS have just been a bit more polished and far more dangerous in their F50.
