Random thoughts from the game.
It looked like the coaches were kicking around with game styles. Saints were going pretty hard, even going with a forward press. To me it looked like we experimented with a few different ways to get through it, run and carry with handball, ball retention with kicking & switching, going up the middle with a quick play from a quick kick or a 45 kick. Depending on who had the ball the tactics worked. Reckon during the season proper we’ll see the team go with the style that best suits who has the ball.

Ahern kicking is pr0n.
McKay looks ready.
Bailey Scott looks comfortable at the level.
EVW will continue his good form.
Brown looks even leaner then last year, Someone give him a proper feed.
We were light on down back so it’s hard to judge Pittard & Mcdonald playing taller then they’d normally play.
Williams was good but kicking was average.
LDU worked his way into the game nicely.
Polec was great, will be an inspired pick up.
Spewing on the injuries, though I think they were all superficial.
Ziebell just cruised.
MacMillan was excellent offensively.
Tyson was a bit of a mixed bag.
Wouldn’t mind seeing Campbell as a ruck/forward option.
