Aaron Hall 19 disposals (14 of them kicks) at 84% efficiency and a goal, him and Polec have been outstanding.
Hall's meters gained would be extraordinarily high tbh. Not sure I completely buy the efficiency stat , he's had a fair few go astray but the way the metric is recorded is just like that. Thankfully more become loose balls than intercepts though :thumbsu:

Polec runs everywhere, never looks puffed. Hall has been excellent too - both are composed with ball in hand.

Brown still looks underdone, slow and very fumbly.

McDonald - kicks into the man on the mark for the 500th time, can't corale Robinson - just comical.

Brisbane played better in that quarter, but we were able to weather the storm to some extent. With Thompson back our defence looks a lot more solid, Tarrant looks better for the run and McKay is looking more confident with each positive play. Offensively we are looking more direct with a second marking option in Campbell, he hasn't contributed on board yet, but he is allowing Brown to stay back and Ziebell to roam and we do look better .
Turner has also been very good this week, Hall looks a steal, Thomas has been solid and Polec is a class above, he and Higgins can be a potent weapon for us in the coming years.

So sick of this zoning shit that we play. Lions got a couple of goals that qtr through a chain of uncontested possessions. Don't know why we do it when none of the top teams do and we happen to be very good at contested football
We still after all these years don’t have a clue at icing time/play when a team gets momentum...we just bulldoze through and the next thing a 3 goal lead is blown

A lot happier with that first quarter, our defence looked solid and we looked more composed with the ball. We know when to play fast and when play the possession game, don't know what was said during the week, but early on, it looks to have worked.

Also, congrats to Thomas for making his debut. Hopefully its a more successful one than Bailey's last week.

Midfield - Higgins finding plenty of the pill, questionable ball use however. Hall outstanding. Polec all class. LDU finding it, using it well. Cunners reliable.

Pittard has been really good IMO. No shanked kicks and defending in the air well.
Pittard's clearly been our best defender so far. He's much better overhead than I thought, he's defended well, and he's been neat with ball in hand. Very good game from him so far.
