Going through the motions

We checked out at three quarter time of the Carlton game. Happy with the effort and fell across the line and **** the rest of the season.

Honestly, what God given right does the group have that at round 15 after a two week stint in Perth, these campaigners decide to shut up shop.

Three weeks after a bye. This is why we’re so angry.

The whole ****ing football department should be on notice but it is what it is.

Not a serious football club.

Heeney is like North's kryptonite. Such a good player. I hate him.
Because Heeney is EVERYTHING in one player that we don’t have. We have combinations of Heeney, but nothing like the complete package he brings.

Explosive
Decent tank
Great foot skills
Terrific by hand
Tough
Consistent
AFL body

We don’t have single bloke on our list who even looks like ever becoming a player like him.

Gees no X, Larkey, LMac, Wardlaw and Archer and while we lost it was a better result than I expected. Last quarter was no good but the first 3 quarters was pretty good especially some of our connection from defense to forward. I thought we changed the game plan a bit and we were more daring. Our team was way younger and inexperienced than the Swans.

Really liked the games of some our younger blokes in Hardeman, FOS, Harvey, Dawson and McKercher who was tagged by just about the best in the business.

Pink was fantastic and Teakle was good in the second half. I also thought Logue was very good.

Our forward line let us down with quiet games from Chom, Zurhaar, Curtis and Darling.

I hope Clarko continues on letting the team play with the dare of the first 3 quarters. This is what Mitchel did with the Hawks in his first 2 years and now they are reaping the benefit. Let them play

17th on the ladder. Richmond have more wins.

thats nothing more than making excuses up. Keep telling the team this snd they’ll continue to lose
Richmond have much better senior players, our senior players are no good

Missed the game live but have read and watched pieces since

Skill Howlers…. hmmmm

An ongoing problem

One thing I will say is I remember around 2011 we were playing the Saints at Docklands and despite a good performance our skills murdered us.

Gradually over the next 2 seasons of 2012 and 13 these improved.

There’s nothing to say that we can’t improve in this area again

In fact, we have no choice

We didn't even over pay for Whitlock. We paid 27 for Whitlock and he looks a bloody good pick for 27!

The issue is that North paid pick 3 for pick 27...

It's actually irrelevant if Whitlock becomes the best player from the draft. His market value AT THE DRAFT was 27.
It's not pick 3 for pick 27, it's pick 3 for pick 27 and 2025 Tigers 2nd rounder.

Still not good but if we landed something good with the Tigers pick, in an area of desperate need, then it's probably ok.

Need to compare the players gained afterwards rather than the picks. Philips was pick 3 and I'd swap him for Whitlock in a heartbeat.

Another game where we’re in it at 3/4 time (don’t know how), but we then concede the first 4-5 goals of the last quarter.

There is no belief, but worse, there is no real want to try to win.

Sydney always exposes us because they certain non-negotiables as a team: two-way running, intensity around the contest and playing to their system.

And their superstars do all of that, plus carry their side

When did 5 become the new 15?

I could have landed further in the long jump (as an aging man with a little too much weight) than was getting paid as a mark to them.

Another issue when playing at the SCG is clean skills matter.

There's not a lot of space to correct mistakes when you're playing on the U8s oval.

I think that's a wrong way at looking at value and risk. Tristan Xerri is a top 10 player from his draft post-fast. That doesn't mean trading pick 10 for pick 73 is a good decision ...

I know that's extreme, but it's fact. The pick was the players market value.

I think that FOS shows all of the potential to be that kind of player. He's also good in the air like Heeney.

So if we can get pick 27 we could easy add it with Richmond's pick and get our first rounder back?

Christ this bugs me. The game goes from being up in the air at three quarter time to dead within the first few minutes of the last quarter with a couple of quick goals. Has happened so many times this year and just isn't excusable.
