We were on top, they were 17th. They were goalless in the first half and we led by 50 at half time. We were still 52 up 24mins into the third quarter. But they dominate from there and kick 6.7 to 0.5. We never look like losing but we just hang on for a 14pt win. Can't recall being as flat after a win.

Mind you, I'd take that tonight.

Some guts, and good decision-making from the usual culprits, would more than sate me.

Tackles, shepherds, chases, knock-ons, spoils, smothers, all that shit. No head-dropping when a senior player commits a brain-dead error, especially from the senior player.

A win here, without two of the main barometers, would be backs-against-the-wall stuff. It's within them but I don't know if they know it.

I’d take it every day of the week. That win made us 8-0. Unfortunately, the cliff arrived three games later.

If we legitimately cite missing a promising young mid who averages 10 games a year amd hasnt even got to 30 games as pivotal (and we rightly do) them our problems run deep (and my oath they do).

This will be interesting.

This is one match up that I'm confident we'll win tonight. In his last couple of years with us, Goldy was regularly monstered by the more physical ruckmen like Nankervis, Witts, that dude from GWS etc.

As much as I loved Goldy when he was one of ours, I hope we take every opportunity to physically work him over tonight. He's never responded well to that sort of treatment.
