I was umpiring junior footy finals yesterday. Did not see one kick of the game. I still haven't seen any of it. I looked up the predictable score when I'd finished, and haven't engaged in football until now. Aside from us losing by nine goals I know nothing about the game - who played well or not, the goal scorers, the quarter by quarter scores, any MRO stuff, injuries - nothing.

I feels fantastic and I strongly recommend it.
And the best thing is, if you just assumed what happened in the game, you'll be 99% correct.

I missed the second half yesterday as I was at the dogs vs demons game.

Don’t feel like I missed a thing, in fact it felt liberating

Having said that I’m off to Tassie on Saturday

I need help

This current group has me getting rose coloured glasses for the 2007 era battlers.

Pratt, McMahon, Jesse Smith, all these types of players playing and training out of a dog house who absolutely destroy these guys on heart.

I’d cry for a David Teague type right about now

Self awareness before the fact is far more admirable than self awareness after the fact
But that's not the opinion, the 8 win thing, of someone who is in touch with reality. This whole thread has been going since COVID. And we are all still here banging away trying to find a vein

We are never going to stop banging away. Ever.

I've said it before, but we'd make great participants in a psychological study about human loyalty

My name is ferball.

I remember standing in the pissing down rain at Princess Park while my boss, a newsagent who'd taken me to the game, wanted to leave, nearly forty years ago. And I wouldn't. I'd been in Melbourne not very long. I was only 12. Hawthorn had over 200 points. I couldn't. I won't now either.

It's not an addiction.

It's something else.

Sometimes when it's your turn to go all you are gonna get is hurt. And you know it anyway.

Lift your head, straighten your back, stick out your chest and look it in the eye.

There are two kinds of people in the world. Those that hold the line when it all goes to shit, whatever the cost.

And those that don't.

That's all.
Just discovered this thread.

Remember a few years ago going down to Arden street I think it was full of optimism and I watched us get absolutely belted by hawthorn( who we’re supposed to be at the same stage as us) in a practice match. Stayed until the last kick, probably by cj who had about 75 of them that day.

Those are the days that will make it sweeter when we eventually win the flag.
