Happy to see Kennedy dropped to the 2's. Still appears short of a gallop after an interrupted pre-season and ongoing ankle injuries. Hoping he can play a heap of minutes on ball with Jack.
Jack needs to learn his craft as an onballer. Will be a bigger test this week against a stronger side. Hoping he keeps building that tank and finds a way to get his own ball.
I saw Polson first hand last week. Was ferocious and tenacious when they had the ball. Now need him to use that tenacity to get the ball first. Although small, he is brave and fast, so would be an asset in the 1's if he can build his game to consistent 20+ possie games.
Schu and TDK both looked pretty good to me. They both have AFL qualities. Schu that booming left foot kick and TDK a great leap and aerobic capacity which allows him to get to each contest. Looking for them to build slowly, and serve a solid apprenticeship.
Weiters was outstanding last week. Started off pretty shaky, but gained confidence as the game went on. He played his favourite role - spare man in defence and dominated. Not sure he will be allowed this freedom this week as no doubt Williamstown will put a lot of planning in to him. Hopefully he finds a way to still dominate, regardless, as this is his challenge in the AFL.
***special mention to no.9 - Sam Fisher. Looked quite good in his first game last week. Could be one to keep an eye on as a mature age rookie for next year. Is a goal-kicking midfielder who was a Sydney Swans rookie. Is only 20 years old..
