I write this at half time. We're down by 49 points. People are saying we're still crap; we've got no hope.

HOWEVER! There are several points I want to make...

Fev has presented well; and had 3 near misses. That's 15 points we were most unlucky to miss out on.
The umpiring has certainly hurt us. A lot of bad holding the ball decisions given against us early; and later the Hawks got away with it.

The comeback started happening late in the 2nd quarter. Stevens, murphy and gibbs came to the back half to thrust attacks from defence.

Also Fev's attitude was quite promising; Fev often the barometer of the team wasn't sulking like he could have. He was pushing down onto the wing getting involved.

The fight is still there, the knock on Jackson definitely sparked something; with Stevens getting emotional and then forcing Buddy over the line.

That's all from me for now; here's hoping for a better second half.

For too long we have made excuses about why we are useless.. And for too long we have had to look for past the negatives and try to select positives from individuals.

It's a team sport.. We are a team, and it's time we are judged as a team. I don't care if it's "only" NAB cup etc.. It's a game of football..

Call a spade a spade.... We are disgraceful!

we're not useless. true we have been bad in the past; but we have played well since half time

Fellow Blues supporters, Unfortunately I think tonight has said alot about where we are at!! I'm so disapointed! When the game was alive and there to be won we fell well short!! The Hawks took the foot off the pedal and we weren't totally embarrassed but I am worried about what could happen during the year when teams will show no mercy!
There were some positives...Stevens seems to be back, Gibbs has improved etc... BUT... we still have a handfull of players that shouldn't be in the team...Russell and Wiggins to name only two. Why did we overdo the handball use? Why do we still kick to Fevola when he is outnumbered? and.....who saw the sign in the cowd saying "Lara Bingle one night Stand"?

I tipped us to lose by 5, and we all knew CHF and stoppages were problem areas after last week. Some of us need to be reminded we're a work in progress. The Hawks are a top 4 side, and this is about where we sit against them.

Don't panic.

All is not lost, lots of good points for the blues to keep developing though out the season. Kreuzer was impressive and it amazed me how he sucked up the browny bump and jumped strait back up, well done young fella. Seen more experinced and mucseled up bodys stay down after a bump like that, say a lot about the kid! Gibbs was fantastic and the only thing that let murphy down, really was his kicking at goal. Hadley will make a diffrence to your defence, i got sick of him poping up in front of our hawks, and there was a young dark guy with a tatt on his arm floating around the ground, mostly defence that was quite impressive. simpson had a good game also. Don't give up, lots to look forward to, may be frustrating but you guys have the tallent.

Carlton did make a come back ini the last term, but the hawks rested a few players that were having a huge impact for us Birchall, Bateman and franklin (so they didnt get ahead of them selfs) they just wanted to traill a few youngsters together..... were still developing.

It my personall view but i think fevola is a distaction for your club on and off the feild. Takes a huge wage and doesnt kick as many goals that he should have for a player with his skill. (yes i know he bumped a few hawks, but that was for himself in frustrationm not for the team benifit) think he has the kind of effect that richardson has on the tigers. Any how you lot might disagree but thats fine, its just my veiw.

p.s Waite is a class player and i think he is more of an asset in the forward line.....

good luck for season 2008 (but not too much luck against us ;)

Fev, Richo & even your own Buddy Franklin, are players who all have immense talent, but unfortunately they all lack the discipline/strong will, to make it to a level of greatness. I think all 3 of these players will be remembered (admittedly Buddy & Fev have a few years to go) as very good players, instead of great players. They are great to have in your team though, because when they are on song they tear even the best opposition apart.

Bit harsh on buddy i do believe, he is only 20 years old. Fev is about 28/29 and richo is 31/32. Give buddy until he is aleast 25, then make that call. Nothing to support the buddy statement yet.

Yes i did see the lara bingle sign in the grand stand, wonder if a hawk supporter brought the sign to put off the big fev game?

Fev is 27 and Franklin is 21.....nice work anyway.
