Yep. I paid $255 last year.

I'm not sure but the price jump might be linked to the new broadcast deal which comes into effect this year. It's getting damn expensive (already was, but moreso now).

Sadly Channel 7 only shows 3 games per week this year (including none on Saturdays), so unless you can go to the pub or find an alternative way to watch games () you'll miss out on a lot of football.

That’s f***in horrendous by 7. Fancy forcing the supporters to subscribe to Kayo so they can watch their team play most weeks.

I’m tipping the lower end teams won’t get a lot of airtime.

Kayo is just the sports channels of Foxtel. So yes, both show all 9 games each week.

Under the new broadcast agreement, not only are Foxtel/Kayo showing every game (as they did previously) but will also have their own commentators for every game. Meaning you would get a choice of commentary for any Channel 7 game depending on which you use to watch it.

Fox/kayo was sold a month ago to the American company DAZN who immediately jacked up prices etc. hence the change

This is also Sydney's second 60 plus loss in a grand final within 2 years. So I guess within that context it makes more sense to do a heavy review.

I am extremely disappointed that the Other Worldly Circus thread has been deleted.

Whist I may not have agreed with some views expressed there, I like every one else, can choose not to engage, ignore and if the thread does not interest me, not click on it all.

I found the thread to be engaging, and whilst not everyone's cup of tea, a source of important discussion at an historical watershed.

The we won you lost does not interest me. The stakes are too high to be mired at that level. There are some exceptionally knowledgeable and articulate contributors on this subject on this board. I don't need to or want to venture to the swamp that is the main board for these discussions and insights.

I feel very strongly that this thread should be reinstated with appropriate thread bans for those who would draw it down to tribal bragging rights.

There are voices that need to be heard.

My decision, fwiw and as it relates to me, is that should the thread not be reinstated by 6pm this Sunday, I'll close my account and not return in protest.

The platforms for free speech diminish by the day and the pace of it is set to accelerate. Let this place not be a casualty.
