From a member's email from the Pres:

"Beyond Round 1 we can all eagerly anticipate a very special Friday night at the MCG: a rare home game [at the G] for us at the home of footy against Collingwood, the marquee fixture of our 100-year celebrations.

It will be a momentous night as we celebrate our shared history and a unique opportunity to break our home and away attendance record."

Could someone help me out with our logo situation?

The 100 Year Logo is on our Guernsey, The Clubs Official logo on AFL, broadcasting networks and the clubs website, used on our socials and advertising ect.

But then on our Polo shirts, training gear and all the off field apparel have the 2015-24 logo. I've also seen it used on socials ect.

I know the 100 Year Logo is temporary and I assume we will go back to our normal one next year, but I just find it confusing why we haven't just changed it in full for a year. Does anyone know why half of our things still contain the old logo?

Just saw the woolen 100th anniversary Footscray jumpers. They look fantastic. Not cheap, but I'm going to have to fork out. Sleeves or sleeveless? I'm channeling my inner Alan Hopkins and leaning towards sleeves.
They’ll be warmer, unless you’re going to be out on the ground 😏

A bit of Bulldogs trivia.
When was the last time (if ever) that we have fielded a side without any player wearing a jumper number less than 7?
Has it ever happened three games in a row like it has this year?

😳

Now that's a question only Stan from Stradbroke Island could answer 😁

I've had a bit of a look through the record books. There was a game in 1933 when a bloke called Wally wore #3 (sound familiar?). He was the only player wearing a number less than 7 on his back.

It was in Rd 17 against St Kilda at the Junction Oval. Remember that one GDB?
We had more scoring shots than them but lost by a big margin, 14.21 105 to 21.11 137. I don't think Brad Johnson was even our goalkicking coach back then. So clearly our inaccuracy is a long-established pattern.

Anyway that's the closest I've been able to find so far.

Interestingly there were some early years where a number was worn by more than one player. Perhaps when a player was injured they just gave his jumper to whoever replaced him the following week. I think there were times where more than one player wore the same number in the same game. I'm guessing that one player came off injured, peeled off his jumper and gave it to the 19th man, who pulled it on and ran out to play. But who knows.

There are even some early seasons listed where players had games but there is no jumper number recorded for them at all. I don't know whether that's because they wore a generic jumper with no number, or their jumper number has been lost to posterity, or perhaps there's some other reason.

Found one!

7 July 1990. Round 14 - another away game to St Kilda.
But this time it was at Moorabbin.
And we kicked straighter.
And we won.
12.13 85 to 11.12 78 :)
Future #3 Chris Grant kicked 3 goals wearing #29 in his debut season. He was well on his way to 51 goals, a feat never before achieved by a 17yo.
I'm sure you'd remember it.

Our lowest jumper number was worn by Doug Hawkins (#7)

Thought that this was just a bit more than , "Not worth a thread".

Finished a trip through Spain and Portugal, currently in stunning Switzerland and departing on Monday.

Well for the first time while away we switched on TV CNN for an English channel.
Right at the conclusion of the news , there's a segment on about 4 club teams throughout the world celebrating their wins.

YES, We.made it, a still shot with Sam (edit ol age) Darcy and a line of the boys running around the ground after the win.

Cheers

While I don’t want to waste much time and energy on old Bailey Sniff, the reaction he gave the crows last night with the double bird says plenty. He thrives on people booing him and it pumps him up. He will be up and about for when we play them and I think it would be awesome if we could mange to get the crowd to politely golf clap him or just stay silent when he goes near the ball. He will be expecting massive boos and if they don’t come, it will throw him off his game.

Unfortunately, we have plenty of dumb supporters who wont be able to manage to pull this off and Bailey will tear us an absolute new one.

Interesting also watching his interview last night….they couldn’t find a single highlight clip of him hitting a target by foot

I’m over him but still angry about how the media played down his value. Bailey, if you read this, and i know you will because you are that type of guy….🖕🏼🖕🏼

Absolutely, silence would be the most fitting reception I feel.

Annus horribilis is turning into an annual event. Not to get too anal about it but an annus horribilis annulment is due. An exorcism of anni horribilus past, present and future.
What sort of bad-arse character do you think could execute this task, WM?

I can think of one. He used to exhort us to stick it right up ‘em.

Unfortunately he’s no longer with us.

An annual anal annus horribilis?! What a pain in the ar5e...

And in answer to dogwatch's question, the first person that came to mind for anal exorcism was John Hopoate! 😬😲

As I posted elsewhere here today.
Bailey is p#$@d off and frustrated because he lost his Crown as Captain Underpants to Robert Irwin!
Excuse me whilst I wash my eyes with detol! 😵

I think young Robert has Bailey covered in most areas... intelligence, personability, relatable setting! 😀
(Plus I'm a huge fan of snakes. Have handled poisonous ones under supervision, but have had more than a dozen of the non-poisonous varieties wrapped around my neck/shoulders/arms at once. Any chance I get to handle a snake - of the reptile variety! - is a fun experience. 🙂)

Without delving into too much details.
Naughton is also having some decently sized off field related problems, relationship related.
If he is looking devoid of confidence, that is probably a factor into why.
That makes perfect sense. If he has had glandular fever over summer that wouldn’t help either. The fact he is a team oriented player means he is playing out of responsibility, especially with Jamarra out. Off field needs to be in great order to be great on field.
