Not Worth A Thread - Random Bulldog Discussion - Part 2

This popped up on instagram today.

I'd seen it before but had forgotten about it.

Tough few days for the Axe getting punted from the finals and by the girlfriend.

Good to see the boys tucking in to what would have been about $2 worth of chips back then.

My jumper has Axe's 23 on it. (bit tight around the midriff these days :p)

I was pretty pleased to see both Macrae and Caleb Daniel figure in top ten of their new clubs.

Just a potential topic for a slow period in between the trade period and the draft and when the “ Steven May” topic is finally exhausted.
Not having any idea on young players at all I am not having a go at anyone. Some posters were keen Lual for last years draft and there was talk that we would have drafted him at the Freijah pick had he been available.
Thought it would be an interesting discussion around what posters saw in him and reasons why he didn’t kick on this year. Presumably if Dogs interest was correct then the club would be doing the same discussion. What trait was over rated? What areas didn’t progress as anticipated? Just a thought.

He was linked to us as a NGA player. Essendon drafted him one pick before we could have matched.

The get-em-while-they're-young practices of the NGA and father son academies have nothing on the EPL.

Max Dowman who at 15 just became the youngest ever player to take the field in the Champions League joined Arsenal at the age of 5.

No that's not a typo. FIVE! I barely knew what football was at that age.
Even though he has played in the EPL and the League Cup he's still so young he has to have a separate dressing room to the adults.

I wish I could grow tomatoes like that.

Some are easily impressed. Tim Watson played his first game at 15 years in the VFL, a real competition, not some (picking an adjective could get me into a lot of trouble) competition like the European Cup or whatever AND he is reputed to have had a shower with the blokes after the game.

Stuart Broad a Dog's supporter. Channel 7 telecast of day 1, night session- Brayshaw asks Broady if he has an AFL team. Broad says while he played in Hoppers Crossing (2004 I think), he stayed with a Bulldog's supporter. Brayshaw complimenting the club saying it's a well run club.

I still hate the cheating campaigner.

That's cool. I wasn't aware of that.

Broad is the same age as me and Hoppers was my junior club. I was no longer playing for them in 2004 so I can't confirm if he was a part of their u18 team that season.

He spoke all about living in Hoppers Crossing last week on the Front Bar, mentioned he still keeps in touch with guys he played with while there.
