You need to stop putting words in my mouth to suit your own opinions...replace the words 'would be' in your above quote and replace them with 'can be' which is what i actually said...big difference yeah?

All i have done is made an observation mate. We have had 2 instances of massively popular clubmen going down with reoccurring injuries and on both occasions the team has stopped to a walk after the fact...
Fair enough mate. I just think it's a bit of a reach to form a theory based on a sample size of two games. Regardless, it's not every week that we are going to lose key players to LTIs so I wouldn't be worried about how we deal with those particular freak events which happen once or twice a season usually.

Look, i hope both you guys are right and we are strong enough mentally...having said that i will never back down on my views of the game from a psychological standpoint.

There are reasons why so many sportspeople refer to the majority of the game being played 'between the ears'...if a wrong bounce of the ball or a fumble can effect a players confidence and psyche is it that naive to have a belief that a significant injury to a good friend can effect the psyche of several players?
I'm well aware of the game from a psychological standpoint. I just don't think this is an example of it.

I think losing the Hawthorn game was a much better example of psychological immaturity.

I've got a mate coming down from Darwin in a couple of weeks who is keen to go to the Dogs vs Norf game, does anyone know the best way to get four tickets in the medalion club? Or seats around that area? We were looking on ebay and gumtree but not sure how reliable that is.

Or even if anyone here has any for sale. Would rather give our hard earned to someone on here or ebay than Etihad.

Cheers.

Bit harsh saying i'm blind. Carlton were coming off an interstate trip in humid conditions and were also down in rotations due to their captains absence. They seemed to run out the game ok...

The fact remains that when JJ went down at the 8 min mark of the 3rd quarter we had kicked 11.4...in the subsequent 50 mins we only managed a further 2.3.

You are right in that the players could have conceivably thought his injury was only minor...however, on the back of bob's injury and JJ's own history (missing finals) one cannot completely dismiss that it was another psychological blow to the team...

Just something to keep an eye on imho
They lost Murphy halfway through the last. We lost JJ 9mins into the third, then Suckers and Roughy at diff times. Hunter said he didn't get a rest on the bench after qtr time, so our rotations were clearly damaged compared to the Blues. 88 interchanges to 77, so of course they ran the game out ok.
Also think that the players may have adjusted their gameplan, to slow the tempo down due to the limited numbers on the bench. If that is the case, then of course scoring will slow down as a result.

Edit: went back and checked, happened with 6mins to go in 3rd qtr.

Today i find out mark lanegan is bloody playing in Melbourne while I'm away. Haven't missed a show for years. Can we get that bloody witch doctor to de-curse our club and it's supporters quick smart. Knowing my luck, the plane will crash. Not happy Jan! !!!!

Question for the tech savvy...

I can't go to the game tonight, Had surgery on a footy injury yesterday. I don't have foxtel as they lost the EPL and I can watch the AFL through Telstra.

Basically to watch the game tonight I'll be using my I pad or my phone, if I use my phone I can screen mirror (samsung to samsung) but it drops the quality.

Without getting apple TV or the like, does anyone know if I can connect my phone or I pad to a hdmi cable with a charger like cord? That way I can watch on TV without losing quality?
Can send the misses up to JB. Cheers in advance.

Quick google search showed me this.

Apple 30-pin to VGA Adapter
You can do it three ways...
  • 1. S-Video/Composite cable from apple
    2. VGA Cable from Apple
    3. Wireless to Apple TV

Thanks mate. To be honest the anesthetic hasn't made my head work too well, probably could have Google myself.

Mods, why was the preview thread locked?

If it's behavioral fair enough, but still, the game hasn't started yet.......

Its unlikely you will be able to connect your ipad/phone to a TV as the AFL app will disable it, they make it so you can only watch it on a small screen. They don't want people connecting it up to a huge screen and therefore choosing to pay a lot less for the app than an expensive foxtel pack. It's annoying but it all about the agreement and $$$.
