The time has come to say Goodbye to Bigfooty it's been a great 5 Years
I've met some sensational people along the way who I have since become great mates with.

May our wait for a Flag be short, And the Celebrations long and lasting.

I know it's not everybody's cup of tea but for those who are interested in AFL Rankings (Champion Data) ...

Here are the WB player points and overall AFL rankings after the H&A rounds.

Here they are sorted by change in points over the H&A rounds (i.e. since pre-season):

Love it Dogwatch, but how can Stewart Crameri go down if he does
not play any football and how can Jake Stringer be ranked in the
top 100 on performance this year not even close to reality. Give me
the wise reflection of AFL fantasy price any day although your work
on the charts is excellent.;)
They measure the last 40 games of footy or so; hence Fyfe still ranking so high after missing games, or Bont skyrocketing once he got to 45 or so games and his early efforts dropped out of calculation.

Afl looking likely to trial 16v16 rather than traditional 18.

Seriously why don't they just leave the game alone compare it to other sports they don't change rules and structure every single year. They need to just leave the game alone.

Chris Scott supports it, no doubt cause Geelong have shit depth so less players used would help them and their depth as a couple injuries wouldn't affect them as much

You want to go back to a massive open field with hundreds of
people chasing a possum skin ball. The game has evolved and
keeps evolving, our ground sizes are not even uniform which
is a complete joke.

You can make changes that are necessary but the afl make over reaction changes constantly.

They brought the sub rule in then got rid of it when it wasn't wanted and actually made the issue worse that it was meant to fix. It was supposed to help teams that lose a player to injury more chance of winning.

The deliberate out of bounds interpretation was changed this year which has added nothing to the game

The contact below the knees was a huge over reaction to one incident meaning the player trying to win the ball is no longer rewarded.

The interchange cap which makes no difference to the game being brought in when no one cares how much a team interchanges, means players get less rest stay on the ground longer and then the afl is surprised it's resulted in more congestion. Which coaches will coach for at the end of the day.

The interpretation of the push in the back changed to hands in the back meaning guys are pinged for merely holding their position

Now I'm not totally against the over protection of the head and front on contact but as a footballer growing up you were taught to turn your body when reaching the ball and protect yourself as you picked it up yet now players go head first knowing they will get protected causing more chance for serious injury than was there in the first place.

There are changes that help but the afl make changes for the sake of changes they try reinventing the game every year giving none of the changes a year or two to see how they go before making a new change

What other game in the world do you get a team win a qualifying
final then a preliminary final and it's prize is to travel across the
country and play a team on it's home ground, a ground that if
they are lucky they get to play at once a year.

I agree that knee jerk rule changes are bad for the game, but they
are going to happen when you get teams of people looking to
exploit any loophole they can find in the rules, the head high
tackle ducking trend is a great example of adapting to an
industry leader in this case Joel Selwood. If you can't beat them
join them. Luke Beveridge has changed the game, but is it for the
better most fans are just happy to win and don't care what it looks
or smells like.

The ground the grand final is played on is a different discussion, I disagree with all the vic teams having to share two grounds they can't train on except Geelong and that's something along with the grand final that could be looked at. I'm not against change but the afl need to let things settle not constantly change and this 16 a side thinking is a complete change to the entire structure of what the game of afl it means positions on the ground disappear

The sad reality with the modern game is those positions have already
gone or are being devalued by the modern coaching tactics. I hate
watching games and 75 % of the ground is empty at least in the
women's game there was a contest where ever the ball went and
they played without wings. I miss the contest, i miss individual
flair and skill, i miss meaningful statistics, i miss football.

But coaches will exploit it again and congest the game again, the coaches continue to want the game congested no amount of rule changes will stop that.

There are better ways to stop congestion than losing two players
