OK. Everyone has moments on here where they need to know something, but it is something that could be answered in one or two posts and would be invalid quickly. This thread is for all of those thoughts, that don't need their own thread, but need to be discussed.

To get things rolling, is 80 cents too much to pay for a dim sim and potato cake?

I got a death threat over the phone last night. I'm pretty sure it was just some punter dialling a random number. Still it rattles you a bit. If I get another call then i'll freak out.

No way. That's great value these days. You'd be lucky to get one of those for 80c now.

60 cents each in outer industrial estate takeaways. The corner shop near work has shop made potato cakes for 60c. Wont buy them tasteless mass produced moulded buggas. Potato cakes should be like snow flakes, no 2 alike.

I got one.

How long is the waiting list for AFL Full membership these days?

I think it's about 7-8 years. I've had my silver for 5 so I shouldn't have too much longer now. I think the Silver's definately worth it though... it gives you everything except priority GF access (which is obviously one of the big drawcards...).

In saying that, I've still been to two GF's as there were left over tickets the full members didn't snap up (both Syd-WCE matches) and got a ticket for last years game through the club's membership allocation (another great part about AFL membership is that it qualifies you as a club member as well). So really, for the next 7-8 years, you'll get access to 40 matches a year, first 3 weeks of finals and perhaps 2-3 GF's (if interstate teams participate). Not a bad deal...

That's good to know, I was wondering about that as well.

You don't get access to the preliminary final.

For a million dollars could you last a year only eating one type of food? And what would that food be?

I'd probs have a go...i mean, a million dollars! Id probably choose sandwhiches, you can get most of ya dietry requirements and you can change what's in them (if that's allowed).

You can purchase tickets at guest pass prices. These tickets were available at the Geel v Coll prelim a few years back, so your always guarenteed a spot. This is not the case for the GF, where as soon as a Vic side gets in, your no chance unless it's your team and you can score a ticket in your clubs membership allocation.

Was driving to work when I saw the sign for the town of vincent. The sign said "nuclear free zone" I don't have a clue why that is on the sign, i presume most places in Australia would be nuclear free zones?

Yeah you can have a sandwich, but it has to have the exact same filling everytime, so you'd wanna make the right choice.

I was just thinking whether I could go like a year on just something likes apples or something (dietary needs aside OFC). I'd want the million, but god you would go insane.
