This from Jeff Dunne in reply to a thread entitled: Who will be the bolter for 2008? Brisbane & St Kilda are the most likely if they can stay relatively injury free. The Bulldogs could push for the 8 if some of their younger players start to live up to their potential. Ditto for Richmond but that's a bigger IF. Carlton? LOL, if Carlton get close to making the 8 I'll buy 10 Carlton memberships at the end of the season and donate them to some of my biggest Carlton fans on this site.

How would he define 'getting close to making the 8', would that be 8th, 9th or 10th place?

I think we'll finish about 9th or 10th, I also think Brisbane will finish top 4, and they'll give the premiership a real shake this season.

Woo, big call. They were shaping up pretty well last year though and they have their FF back.

I'll tell you what, i have read a lot of bullsh1t posts on this website, mainly on the main board, sometimes feel like i'm surrounded by idiots, but if i ever had to vote for someone to lead all these idiots off the edge of a cliff it definately be him. Everytime he talks about CARLTON its p1sses me off, not because its crap(most of the time), not because its true(rarely), not because he's just slagging off my beloved club, not because i care what he thinks, ITS BECAUSE HE IS THE BIGGEST TOOL HERE!!!!

They've got the right amount of maturity and experience into the players that needed it.

Adcock, Rischitelli, Roe, Stiller, Merrett and the likes, plus they have guys like Sherman, who showed promise but fell away last year, and apparently, Jon Brown is going to have the greatest season by any footballer known to man this season

Did you not pick up on my reply??

We have more premierships in our phone number than St Kilda have in their cabinet, and that he should call 1300 72 79 81,(thanks to talking Carlton on that one)to arrange one for his ten mates, cause we may get close!!

Who cares what a few success deprived supporters think of our great club?? They endure 90 years of crap and try to s**t on us when we put up with five! The thing is, we're coming back!!

Beautiful. Did anyone bother to ask him what he defines as close?

If JD is going to be so generous I would rather see him pay back some of the creditors his beloved football club could only see fit to offer 7c in the dollar to.

More importantly, does 'getting close to making the 8' exclude making the 8?

More importantly still, I think he has inadvertently brought a rather brilliant initiative to our attention. Many people offer wagers on here and I think it's about time wagers were made in terms of Carlton memberships :thumbsu:

Good find lopezz!

When someone follows the game to cheer more loudly at the suffering of others than the joy of your own team winning you know something is wrong.

I pity Saints fans who've been given nothing over 110 years. Nice for them to have some hope these days but what can you possibly celebrate with such a record?
