I have been hiding from this thread lately.

Fallen off a bit? Our last 7 weeks ranked us 20th in the league. It was a terrible choke.

The main reason was the anorexic size of our list, not taking into account all of the guys we loaned out. Injuries cruelled us, but then so did the ultra conversative management of the side, our game plan, and the timing of substitutes.

Yes, we can look at the fact that we would have taken 7th and Conference League football at the start of the season. But we were in 3rd for the majority of the season and our hopes were high. We only needed something like 10 points from our last 8 games to get Champion's League and we failed.

We got 1 point from our last 4 home games. We lost to Everton late, drew with Leicester late, both at home. It truly was abysmal.

Financially, the Conference League isn't worth the squad investment we need to play in two comps next season. I won't blame Marinakis if he chooses another manager.

I understand your frustration; I was also disappointed about Fiorentina flaming out.

But Forest have literally doubled their points tally from last season. They were widely expected to fight off regulation, but instead they're in Europe for the first time in decades.

And they're not the first club outside the Big Six to look like competing for a CL place only to drop off. It happens much more often than not.

Accept that they need a larger squad to enable squad rotation.

Would agree, we were very poor in our last 4 home games. I hope Marinakis does not replace Nuno. I think it was more about squad depth, fatigue and a lack of form. Not reinforcing in January was also a factor. We played poorly v Chelsea, but if Chris Wood kicks the two opportunities he had we may have won 2-1. He was kicking these earlier in the season and we would eke out a win despite not playing well.

Anyway successful season all in all. Hoping for some more shrewd signings in the off season. UReds.

Waiting on Crystal Palace's appeal to CAS to see if we are going to be in Europa or the Conference league.

Meanwhile, we have lost Elanga, Moreno, Sosa and have the massive drawn out saga with Gibbs-White and Tottenham.

We have Igor Jesus in the door along with Jair Cunha, but we need so many more to cover our losses and get greater squad depth for Europe.

MGW has signed a new contract with Forest. A good thing considering our window has been very slow so far.

We need to sign more midfielders, wingers and full backs though.

Dan Ndoye signs Nottingham Forest contract as Reds' next transfer intentions revealed https://share.google/kDbe1Nq3sl7yPq3gA

Possibly our Elanga replacement, but we also lost Ramon Sosa, so need another winger or two.

Wasn't expecting that result.

Really? I thought Forest were certainties, but I'm biased. Should have been a larger margin IMO, but that first half was sublime and I'll take it. Several new players to be added to this squad over the next week or two. Just couldn't get their registrations approved in time.

What is great to see from a Forest fan perspective is that we had 55% of possession, and kept the ball in our attacking half, instead of sitting back defending and counter attacking on the back of 35% possession.

Thanks for the alert. I was lazy about posting this.

So Nuno is out, and honestly, it's his own fault. Publicly complaining about the owner is stupid. Having a hissy fit at not getting a player you want is unprofessional. Then getting all of these attacking weapons and refusing to use them when you lose 3-0 to West Ham of all clubs, not to mention the omitting of certain new players from our Europa squad.

It really did feel like he was sabotaging us so he would get sacked and get a payout. This was his intention.

With what Marinakis has invested, I have to side with him. He recognised that Cooper was a good championship manager who could get us promoted, but wasn't going to get us further up the table, and perhaps see us relegated again. He recognised Nuno could get us up the table, but it has become clear that Nuno is a defensive manager who only wants to counter attack, and also can't manage a larger squad, which is necessary for European football.

The only question now is whether the next manager is Ange, Mourinho, Glasner or Marco Silva.

Ange is a great fit. The Greek connection would hope he can use to his stubborn advantage

If the owner can stick phat for two seasons, Ange could do something decent with the squad (although I don’t know much about it)

Good luck Aussie Ange

It's a great squad and we invested heavily in attacking players this year. Should suit Ange to the ground. We also have some quick defenders to get back to defend the counter attack.

His big downside? How stubborn he is

I'd like to think he has learned some lessons from Spurs, but we shall see.

I'm happy that Forest is playing European Football. Our excursion back into the EPL, surviving for two years and being the surprise of last season, is fantastic. But we did get stale and boring, and Nuno is every bit as stubborn as Ange, just in a different way.

Ola Aina has done a hammy playing for Nigeria which causes an issue as his obvious replacement is Zinchenko, but he is on loan from Arsenal, and we are playing Arsenal so he can't play.

That is a problem ... Savona ?

Yeah, switch Williams to the right and Savona on the left. Problem is nobody seems to know where he's at. We've heard nothing from him and nothing from the club about him. Is he ready to go?

That Forest result brought back memories of Stoke 2020... that benefitted Swansea too..

Full credit to Swansea, 2 goals in stoppage time to take the win, we had our chances and bottled them and they were desperate and wanted it more.

Hopefully we can get a win on the weekend .. the fans appear very restless after throwing that away. :(

Scary time.

First 2 results under Ange are awful. Seems when the new guys were subbed off and players like MGW came on, we turned to shit. Yates shouldn't play. Victor in goal should have done better. Our set piece fragility returns after 2 years. Boly is past it.

MGW was great in the first game vs Brentford and has been a liability since. We should have let him go.

I'm a massive Yates fan however he has been struggling and is shown up when compared with Anderson and Luiz. Still holding out hope that MGW gets back to his best. There were positives from the game, just a calamitous finish.
