No this isn't a Castrol Cold Playces Index. I think there's been a lack of general discussion as to which teams are over and under performing across Europe. Sure it's only November, but the season is starting to take shape. Naturally a degree of subjectivity is involved but I think I'm unbiased in listing these.

Naturally I've given greater weighting to UCL over Europa but I haven't really quantified to what degree. Same with the strength of domestic leagues.

Teams who are doing quite respectably in Europe but appalling domestically are forgotten altogether (ie. Roma and Schalke).

Robben is the centre of massive dispute between Bayern and the Dutch FA (similar to Arsenal and the Dutch FA over RVP iirc). He hasn't played a game for Bayern yet and was tipped to miss the remainder of 2010 with injury (hence why the Bavarians are pissed). Reports emerging he's begun light training but he probably won't return before December.

Ribery hasn't played since September. Forgot what injury though.

Bayern will be back unfortunately. Last season they started just as badly. Go Mainz! Stuttgart sucks this season :(

in relation to this i think its terrible the way Bayern are behaving.
First of all Robben was playing in a world cup representing his country(these oppurtunities dont come around all that often), something that in the eyes of any professional sports player should rank as more important than anything.

Second of all, if Robben didn't want to be part of the world cup campaign because of his injury, nobody would've stopped him, obviously he wanted to be there, so Bayern should stop being wankers and accept that he got injured, took a gamble to play in a team that had a very realistic chance of winning the worlds most sought after trophy, and deal with it. Its not as if they don't have the finances or squad to cover him(partially at least, because i suppose he single handedly got them to the UCL final last year)

I don't see countries paying players their wages....they don't give a shit if a player is injured for the next month or 2 because they don't have a game then. It is not fair to the clubs. FIFA has to say to the countries if you want to risk it you have to cop the consequences.

Dutch FA can f*** themselves, they want RVP for the friendly even though he has just started training this week. Best advice would be to go round try breaking players legs so you don't have to play for the national squad.

but its up to RVP if he wants to play for Holland, unless he wants to he really doesn't have to

How much of a c*** are you going to look like if you refuse to play? Not every team has it like chelsea where their players pick up "injuries" and their places are guaranteed.
