Prediction "Now is the winter of our discontent. Made glorious summer by this sun of York".

The bitter winds of Melbourne are beginning to blow. A bleak winter awaits.
Wins will be few for the remainder of 2022.
Enjoy what we can, and remain committed to the rebuild.
The glorious sun will shine again.

Always thought you might have been a bit of a Richard the Third.

It's a great opening line but we need to read on;

Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York;
And all the clouds that lour’d upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.
Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths;

Richard is proclaiming all our troubles are already behind us which is somewhat premature I agree.
But I take your point 2022 is but a pathway to those victorious wreaths.

What worries me is who fulfills these lines.

And now, instead of mounting barded steeds
To fright the souls of fearful adversaries,
He capers nimbly in a lady’s chamber
To the lascivious pleasing of a lute.

I think the last bit is a reference to Jordy in NY.

Who doesn't love a good lute?

Agreed with the last - I have a strong suspicion but remain hopeful he will learn some discretion and self control.

TD has that covered.

Ode to the fallen magpie, tumbling so erratically to the ground,
Screeches echo into the still of night, like a cocky with its nuts caught in the vice of life,
How far how far can one fall, to eternity cry the unknown,
The abyss is upon us, yet there is hope, a ray of sunshine, the promised land,
Tis draft night, with a golden ticket, a selection of our dreams, a KPF you say,
Yes, we all live, to fight another day

By the time the sun shines again, all of Bruzz, Goey, Moore, Crisp, Tay, Grundy, Billy et al will be at the end of their careers or retired.

Gonna be a long wait.

Gonna be a long wait.

That’s the facts of it.

Maynard, Moore, Crisp, Tay and Grundy will be the veterans.

De Goey will likely be playing somewhere else.

Billy will be retired.

But the preparation for that starts now (well, actually started in 2020). We either embrace it and get to work or we dither and * it up, making it longer still.

speaking as a barded steed, im happy for him to be capering to a lute rather than trying to mount me anytime soon

It is the west, and John Noble is the Sun.

Such an uplifting, hopeful and inspiring observation by the Old Bard! Still, it is beautifully expressed.

My old man used to quote that a lot. In the end, he was right.
