I'm with Mr.L on it.

Can't see much point in being bothered with someone elses player. Like NBoy also said, we got decent compensation out of it as well (and also freed up salary cap space for the future).

All up, it's probably (if Jon can hold down F/B for them for four/five seasons) going to be a win/win deal.
Not sorry he's gone as i think he along with a number of other players ,some still with us ,others thankfully moved on epitomise a very mediocre era of recent times ,one that will forever create a void in our proud history ,however i would've preferred a young player with experience as well as a first rounder in the deal rather than just two first round picks .i hope AC & co don't lose sight of the fact that we still have six months of football ahead of us in 2006 & we can't totally focus on three years down the track.Otherwise what is the incentive to buy a membership next year? The old "rebuilding" excuse wears a bit thin mid-season with your finals hopes already dashed & you're getting pumped each week regardless of having the youngest list in the league.

Us Hawk fans have had our fun. But I am still convinced that Jon Hay has deep mental issues. These are issues which are not going to be solved by simply moving a suburb.

Before most of you carry on like pork chops - I am talking about mental illness. He doesnt appear to have been stable for a while now (taking analgesics responsibly). I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because of this reason. Whilst still not happy with his comments, I can understand why he may have said them.
