Had a putrid second half of round 3 with the first try scorer bets, finished the round +10 however with 3 winners, and am now +48 overall.

Below are my round 4 tips. 39 units at stake - looks as though I'll need to get at least 3 and probably 4 right to make a profit now that the books are starting to get their framing correct.

South Sydney vs Manly
Nathan Merritt $11, Greg Inglis $11, David Williams $13, Rhys Wesser $15*, Dylan Farrell $15
Brisbane vs Penrith
Justin Hodges $13, Lachlan Coote $13, Michael Gordon $13, Michael Jennings $13, David Simmons $13, Matt Gillett $26
Canberra vs Gold Coast
Josh Dugan $12, Daniel Vidot $12, Joel Thompson $13, Steve Michaels $13, Mark Minichiello $34
Parramatta vs North Queensland
Jarrad Hayne $11, Willie Tonga $13, Kalifa Faifai Loa $13
Cronulla vs New Zealand
Nathan Gardner $13, Krisnan Inu $13, Shaun Berrigan $17, Albert Kelly $26, James Maloney $26, Lewis Brown $29
Newcastle vs St.George-Illawarra
Akuila Uate $11, Brett Morris $12, Jason Nightingale $12, Matt Cooper $13
Sydney Roosters vs Wests Tigers
Shaun Kenny-Dowell $12, Todd Carney $17, Benji Marshall $19, Braith Anasta $21
Melbourne vs Canterbury
Justin O'Neill $12, Ben Barba $12, Billy Slater $13, Anthony Quinn $13, Beau Champion $15, Tim Lafai $17

* Apparently already out but I will still put my unit on so that I don't have another Anthony Quinn Round 2 debacle.

(I had all these colour coded to show everyone which book they were with, and I was up to the last game and I pressed something on my keyboard and I lost it all, and I genuinely CBF doing all the code again....most were with Sportsbet though)

Terrible start to 2011. Last week went 1-4 -4.07 units. Looking to bounce back this round.

DOUBLE - BRONCOS ML / ROOSTERS ML (x1.5)

NRL YTD: 4-9-0 (-12.38 @ 25%)

Tell me about it  bit of bad luck but will stick with it. Have the Roosters already in my double with the Broncos to win and liking the Dragons today :thumbsu:

1ST H - DRAGONS -2 (x1)
ATS - DRAGONS -3.5 (x2)

The knights are going to come out firing today, I'll be staying away. Think the Dragons will end up winning, but it'll be close.

Edit: Might actually have a play at Newcastle/St George HT/NT double, $7.50 sportingbet

-4 for the round so far, with two no starters in the first round. Have a lot of good candidates in the last game though. Hope so anyway, I don't want my first losing round...and if it is a losing round, it will be -10 providing they all start.

Hoggy, do you give yourself any leeway when choosing which tryscorer you'll take? Say you rate someone a $8.50 chance, and they're paying $8, will they qualify? Or is it a very strict line of qualification?

A couple of first try scorer bets after a great weekend in the AFL. Tough game with the Bulldogs on top after 3 wins. Think the Storm will be keen to make a mends after the Cowboys gave them a hiding last week. Interesting note the Storm have won on the last 7 occasions after being beaten by 30+ points the week before.

Slater @ $11 & Quinn @ $9

Storm come through to finish the round on a positive note. Still a long way to go after a disasterous start to the season

Round 4
4-3 +0.5 units

YTD: 8-15 (-11.89u @ 35%)
