NRL NRL 2021 Season - Finals Week 2

I am really sad, but that was an incredible final. One of the best I have ever seen.
If we had Reed Mahoney, that was a different game. Ray Stone was the only player who had a few poor plays, and in such a close contest that was the difference.
Fair comment about Mahoney, but Brian To'o would've made a difference too

7-2 penalty count. Reckon most of them were there on Parra but certainly a couple missed on Penrith. In a two point game…

Penrith is so rattled in attacking positions though. Hard to see them troubling the storm too much.

If that’s right then half of Parramattas penalties were wrong decisions after Fergo took a dive

I was especially impressed when a Penrith player had his head ripped off 2m in front of Klein and he was willing to let play continue…Luckily the Penrith bloke was down for the count and he had to call it
I would say about 80-90% of his poor decision favoured Penrith, he missed at least three head highs on RCG, Paulo and Papali'i, he called a forward pass when Parra scored (tough and go call, but I thought the pass drifted forward and wasn't thrown forward), missed an escort, called timeout for a Penrith injury and gave them a free interchange when Parra was on the attack, allowed Cleary to continually hold onto the legs in a tackle (probably should have got a penalty for a professional foul after the fourth time), yet only once did Parra get a six again. There were plenty of others that went against Parra, I can't remember them all.

Rugby league old style. Parra gave it everything. Well done to them. Had a chance to win it right at the end, but couldn't.

The Furgo incident was a shocking look for the game.

Fair enough, I didn’t really watch much of the game as was in and out until the last 20. But Klein has always been a very average referee who I want to punch every time I see him.

Cecchin used to be the best referee but he went downhill over recent years when he realised you’ve got to favour certain teams if you want a top game.

The non-knockon from the Stone pass, and the non-sixagain from the Gutherson strip, and the stoppage for the injury. Those helped Penrith win. Wouldnt be surprised if the league tried to get a Panthers-Storm rematch for ratings etc.

That non knock on for the Stone pass is why you don't blow challenges for stupidity earlier.

Parra really only had one play and it's why Moses got found out at Origin...5 tackles, bomb...5 tackles bomb...rinse and repeat.
Shows Penrith hung on for dear life against a vanilla team. The Storm with all their structures and set plays will carve Penrith up.

And yeah it was just a brave effort by Parra, like a boxer with one broken hand doing his best to last the distance and only had the one punch to fight back with.

Penrith are still in a bad rut imo. They arent dangerous anymore.

Just wonder how fit their main players are.

Cleary looks half fit, Luai looks a shadow of himself and Korisau has been found out. Just wonder whether they would consider starting Burton at 5/8 with Naden in the centres.

They looked out on their feet last week against Souths, they looked absolutely spent again tonight. No one is 100% at this time of year but they are wellllll below what a rested storm will be
