I will never, ever agree it's the right call. Eyes on the ball, heading towards the ball, not a chance in hell Fell-t gets to it. Poor decision.

Not sure his eyes were on the ball changed his line of path. That’s a clear escort. The issue is the challenge system it’s become a farce.

Most blatant corruption and cheating I’ve ever seen. The bunker are on the take and should be all sacked with immediate effect

How drunk were you when this incident happened?

Even Feldt couldn't believe that he sucked in the bunker

Don’t drink much on Sunday really. Seen it a few times and every time I do feel it was an escort. The issue I have with it is the challenge system, don’t believe it should have been allowed to be challenged as it wasn’t a break in play. I hope they come out and iron out the issues with the challenge system or get rid of it.

How can the Cowboys challenge a non-decision? The ref made no call so it can't be challenged. Thats the rules, so the NRL must reverse that result otherwise its total bullshit. They wont tho because gambling matters. Maybe gamblers could sue the league no matter whether they keep the result or decide to reverse it. But its a very black day for the NRL.

And thats not even factoring in all the favoritism the ref showed toward the Cowboys all game, Tigers not receiving a six again despite them being there.

That’s the issue I have about it the allowed challenge. I actually feel the right decision about the incident was made (some may disagree but I did see it as an escort). It’s the challenge I have a major issue with. I thought they clamped down on allowing these types of challenges now everyone is confused about what you can and can’t challenge even more.

I don't know many people who disagree with this. Fell-t's actions started the ball rolling. Klown could have easily put a stop to it by making the right call.

I think to the absolute letter of the law it probably was an escort (changes line, accelerates, blocks Feldt) BUT some common sense should prevail.

He never looks to see where Feldt is, he changes his line purely to get to the drop of the ball, contact is incidental AND as Aucklander evwn if Feldt was Usain Bolt in his prime he was never actually getting to the ball (maybe he gets closish to pressure the catcher but even that’s a stretch).

Weirdly I don’t have as big an issue with the challenge, granted it seems to be either a very very gray area or a total blunder to allow it but you could argue the end of the game is a stop in play I suppose.

All round it certainly feels like the tigers were robbed

Absolutely zero chance it was an escort. Never once did his eyes move from where the ball was going. Not once.

An escort implies the defending player knows where the attacking player is, he genuinely had no idea.

Worst call I've seen in some time.

I could swallow it if it was made on field, the fact it's made from a bunker, with all the replays available etc.

Klein should be dropped for the rest of the season for that.

I have the tiniest possible sliver of sympathy as i think the escort rule and the obstruction rule are a little difficult in the sense they are written really robustly and dont leave much room for interpretation but yeh... its a shocker of a call, especially with the front on angle

I will be shocked if Penrith do not win it with ease. They are a level above everyone else.
Penrith should canter in. But there have been similar years in the recent past where the Storm, say, dominated the regular season, similar amount of losses all year, thrashings dealt out, but come grand final, either won a close battle or lost the game.

If this shows one thing, it's that judgement calls shouldn't be able to be challenged. If they keep the challenge system it should be for knock ons and anything completely black and white. An escort is not, it's very judgemental, I thought it was an escort, others didn't. So we have challenges based on 50/50 calls. Don't particularly like it.

Yep, last year that GF was in the balance till late, and they were just as dominant then. That said I only see Cronulla or maybe Souths if Latrell is playing this well. Cowboys are a year away. Broncos probably not yet. The rest are making up the numbers, Parra won't even make the 8, Canberra will

Not sure Melbourne have ever been in a situation where they were 4 games (should've been 5) clear at the top with a month to go.

Few years ago they were, they rested players coming home to freshen themselves up.

Just so im clear, youre in the bunker, its referred to you, you watch those replays, youre calling an escort and giving NQL a penalty?

Yes I am. I feel it was an escort, he's moved from the direct line. That is an escort personally. However it's the single most absused rule in rugby league every second kick is an escort. It is why I believe an escort shouldn't be able to be challenged as it's extremely 50/50, and it should be left up to the on field ref/touch judges.

My issue is with the challenge itself not with the application as I feel it's a penalty personally. Now many won't agree fully get that.

He's allowed to and he's actually taken the direct line to the ball anyway. The onus isn't on him to watch out for Feldt, as long as his eyes remain solely on the ball.

See I don't feel his eyes were on the ball they shifted to the man, that isn't a direct line. This is why I'd want escorts not being allowed to be challenged. We have completely different views on the exact same instance and we've both watched league for 15 years!
