Roosters before Canberra

Both make the 8, with Parra dropping out. Honestly are Parra winning another game? Dogs maybe but I wouldn't be betting on it, Dogs are playing good footy lately. Roosters probably need to jag one though they do have some tough ones coming home

But there have been similar years in the recent past where the Storm, say, dominated the regular season, similar amount of losses all year, thrashings dealt out, but come grand final, either won a close battle or lost the game.

yeah true..but I think the teams under them were better quality. Roosters, sharks, rabbits etc

The gap just seems wider this year.

I'm feeling the same to be honest but then again I felt the same last year and the GF was a cracking contest.

It would be nice to see Luai have his smile wiped in the finals somehow I just doubt it.

Yeah Roosters have a tough draw but IMO they are the best team below the bottom 4 and out of the pack trying to make finals.

Manly may have a say about Raiders making it too.

Yeah hard to see where Parra win again. But you never know with them.

See I don't feel his eyes were on the ball they shifted to the man, that isn't a direct line. This is why I'd want escorts not being allowed to be challenged. We have completely different views on the exact same instance and we've both watched league for 15 years!
Id suggest your take on the eyes is absolutely in the minority BUT as you say it is a completely subjective ruling

yeah that's right Souths came from no where. It was Storm and Penrith all year and Souths ruined the party.

Just you watch Parra beat Penrith this week, it's just such a Parra thing to do.

Huge game this week for the Rooster, it's one they have to win to make it imo. Manly away are no gimme's either.

Yep. Easy solution remove subjective acts from a potential challenge. Honestly I feel fans will cop it more if it's an on field ref making a judgement call.

Melbourne losing first week was the thing that screwed the finals and therefore they played Penrith in a prelim.

Going back too....Manly in 1997 only lost 1 game all year then lost the GF to the Bulldogs who had scrapped into the finals, needed to win like every game of the last month to scrape in.

Also agree Roosters and Raiders probably make the 8. Parra drops out also because it seems apparent there's internal conflict with Arthurs future and that always is a cause for such slides.

Just feel there are too many key players in poor form and have been all year

Gutherson- looks cooked, has 3 years left, poor recruitment decision.
Mahoney- his heart is already at the Dogs
Brown- why was he playing in the centres part of this season?
Moses- hardly would say you have 1 million plus worth of value here, he's still as inconsistent as ever.
N.Brown- fallen off a cliff, now leaving for the Storm mid season.

In those players is your entire spine, no wonder the side is struggling.

Yeah that too added in. Seems the wheels fell off sometime mid-season (a range of things internally) why we started to see the Eels on the field become schizophrenic around then and then eventually appear to be hitting every branch down the cliff face around now.

Somewhere along the line the players have to take some ownership. Whilst I think Arthur is past his used by date, how about the players actually give a toss and defend. Defence is all attitude.

If you have a lame duck head coach the players know it and mail it in. And then add in some injuries and some players going to other clubs, theyve clocked off

Then you haven't watched the footage. It clearly shows his eyes never moved.

Yeah look I don't rate the coach, mind you the squad is awful and I've said for a while if you are relying on Moses it's an issue. He shouldn't be the prime playmaker he needs a directing number 6.

I disagree, and I've watched it about 40 times now. It's a judgement call. I would have given the penalty. My issue is the farce of a challenge system.
