Carnage. Ponga is a long term injury now. I can see him out for a minimum of 4 weeks. Brailey hopefully is only out for 1 game but who knows.
Yep, anyone that's seen our team list this week will realise how brutal it is.

The forward pack is barely NSW Cup standard.

Never seen anything quite like it.

Still looks better than what WT is going to put out there.

Out of our squad of 28, 11 of them are unavailable this week. 11.

It's round 3 ffs.

OUCH! Just saw the team sheet too that pack sorry to be harsh, looks horrific

Still have some points but it's the defence that's the query.

Least you might stop picking Ponga at 5/8 now and for a fan that likes watching the bloke THANK GOODNESS!

The defence was fantastic last week. I just don't see us scoring many points with that forward pack not sending us forward.

The Bromwich's/Kaufusi are going to have a field day.

You are fortunate that JMK is out and he's been quite important but yes it could be ugly this week. It being at home does help though.

I hope your coach has grown a brain after the latest Ponga thing and he's not at 5/8 again

I agree but then we've recruited Lachie Miller there and he's certainly not a 5/8.

Poor list strategy biting us again.

So be it Ponga is a miles better FB, he sure isn't the next Lockyer despite your silly coach trying to force it.

He has the ball playing skills to be a 5/8 but his defence certainly isn't there.

Yeah not for me he doesn’t. Every coach has tried to find the next Lockyer it doesn’t work. Ponga is a very good fullback who can be creative and chime in at FB. He is not a 5/8 and never will be. If I were Ponga I’d be asking for a release if the coach continues to be stubborn

I think he's shown at Origin level that his defending is fine... when he can be bothered. I just don't think he has much interest in defending in the line.

Big difference doing it at fullback and 5/8. You’d make maybe on a bad day if your side is shocking 6 tackles maybe 8 at FB you are doing 30 at 5/8.

Ponga is a natural fullback everyone knows it maybe except the Knights coch who has been useless since he was appointed. He’s completely wrecking his Origin career if he stays near the halves as Walsh is breathing down his neck

Ponga needs to learn from Cam Smith school of tackling, i.e. grapple the blokes. Let them come to you. Weirdly might be safer defending in the middle where the big props can take the heavy bumps while he does the grappling up top, just as cam smith.

So why do these mandatory concussion protocols start in round 3 of the season and not round 1?

your guess is my guess, better question is why they don't go NFL style with the GF and have a week off though
